Yn’s POV
I was walking down the quiet, empty roads, holding an umbrella tightly in my hand. The rain poured gently, tapping softly against the fabric above my head, creating a rhythmic, calming sound that made the walk feel almost magical.
It was peaceful—just me, the rain, and the occasional splash of puddles beneath my boots. My best friend, Jeongin, had to stay back at school for some club activity, which left me to walk home alone. Usually, we’d go together, laughing and talking about the most random things. But now, the silence was my only companion.
I tilted my head up slightly and noticed the sky growing darker by the minute, the clouds thickening like they were preparing for a storm.
“I should probably hurry,” I muttered to myself and picked up the pace.

When I finally reached home, I shook off the excess water from my umbrella and stepped inside, sighing in relief. The coziness of my home welcomed me, the warmth offering comfort after the chilly walk.
I decided to make myself a cup of hot chocolate—something warm and sweet to lift my mood—and maybe finish the homework I’d been putting off all day.
Just as I settled in and took the first sip, the doorbell rang. My brows furrowed. “Who could it be at this time? Jeongin’s still at school…” I whispered, setting down my mug and walking toward the door.

Suddenly, a scream echoed through the colony—loud and shrill—followed by what could only be described as a dolphin-like screech. Neighbors peeked through their windows, alarmed, probably wondering if a horror film was playing in real life.
Jeongin’s POV
I couldn't help but feel guilty that Yn had to walk home alone in the rain. After quickly finishing my work, I decided to surprise her. Maybe a little company and warm drinks would make her evening better.
[Time Skip]
I stood in the school corridor, searching frantically for my umbrella. “Damn… I must’ve left it in the classroom,” I muttered under my breath. There wasn’t time to go back now.
I pulled my hood over my head and started running. The rain had picked up, and within minutes, I was drenched from head to toe. Still, I didn’t stop. I needed to get to her.
By the time I reached Yn’s doorstep, I looked like a walking puddle. I knocked on the door, my teeth slightly chattering. A few seconds later, I heard faint footsteps approaching from inside.
Then—BAM.
The door swung open.
A streak of lightning flashed across the sky, illuminating my soaked figure—and at that exact moment, a blood-curdling scream erupted from inside the house.
I screamed in reflex.
Yn’s POV
I nearly passed out when the lightning flashed, and a figure stood dripping wet in front of me. I couldn’t see clearly at first, and panic surged through my chest. But something about the scream that followed made me pause—it was… oddly familiar?
“J-Jeongin?” I asked hesitantly.
“Oh my god, Yn! You scared the life out of me!” he exclaimed, stepping inside quickly.
“Well, I should be the one saying that,” I huffed, shutting the door behind him. “And look at you! You’re soaked! Go to my room—you left some clothes here last time. I’ll make you hot chocolate,” I said, already heading toward the kitchen.
He nodded gratefully and was about to head upstairs when I suddenly stopped him.
“Hey… how about we go play in the rain?” I asked, a mischievous grin spreading on my face and hope sparkling in my eyes.
He turned around slowly, brows raised—but then, he broke into the biggest smile I’d seen all day.
That was all the answer I needed.
I grabbed his hand and pulled him outside.
No One’s POV
After the chaos of screams, the neighborhood now echoed with laughter, soft giggles, and joyful shouts as the two best friends danced and splashed around in the rain like little kids.
They didn’t care about getting wet or cold. It was just them, the rain, and the moment.
[Next Day]
Jeongin sat on the couch wrapped in a blanket, sniffling. Yn, across from him, had tissues stuck to her nose and a hot water bottle on her lap.
“Who told you to go play in the rain?” Jeongin mumbled, glaring at her.
She narrowed her eyes at him. “And who told you to show up drenched like some dramatic main lead?”
“That was the only option I had!”
“Well, mine was the only option too!”
They huffed in unison, looking away from each other.
Moments later, they both laughed softly.
Turns out, both of them had caught colds—but that didn’t stop them from spending the entire day wrapped up in blankets, watching movies, sipping hot chocolate, and taking care of each other like always.
Because rain or shine, sickness or not—they always had each other.
