Vivienne

I woke up with the worst damn headache ever, I shouldn't have drunk that much last night. I know it was my birthday but sometimes I just get carried away.

The damn alarm vibrated under my pillow so I can get up, but it was just making the headache worse for me. I regret my life decisions.

I got up from my bed and huffed in frustration, I rubbed my hands on my face then stretched a little. I let out a sigh before making my way to my bathroom to do my business.

I sat on the toilet to pee and I felt myself starting to fall back asleep. I quickly shook my head and cleaned myself before hoping in the shower. While I was in the shower I had this random question.

Why was I even awake this early?

"Oh my god! I'm gonna be late!" I yelled at myself, I hurried up washing the soap and then quickly drying off my body. I ran out of the bathroom almost tripping and falling down on my face.

I had an interview today at this music and entertainment company, it was one of the highest paying and most famous in the industry and for me to get a simple interview was a damn miracle.

I put my suit on, I only had one for special occasions. I usually wear it either for a music event or a funeral. I liked how it wasn't too masculine and not too feminine for my taste, just right in the middle.

"Where the hell did I put them?" I mumbled as I looked all over my apartment, under my bed, on top of it, in the kitchen, even in the bathroom but I couldn't find my hearing aids. I gave up on trying to find them and tried to finish getting ready.

I dried my hair so it won't stay wet without trying to style it or anything and just grabbed my violin before running out of the door. By the time I remembered where I put my hearing aids I was already out of the building and I couldn't go back to get them.

I ran through the busy street of the city trying not to get hit by anything, a person or a vehicle. If I don't run, I'll probably be late for the interview and my chances of getting a better job than a backup violinist at the local orchestra would be gone.

It was dangerous to just run around the city without my hearing aids especially when it was rush hour and I couldn't hear a thing, I stood on the sidewalk tapping my foot nervously as I waited for the light to turn green so I can cross. I glanced at my watch for a moment and realized I was 10 minutes late already, I should just cross, the street was empty and I'd been waiting for too long.

Just as I put my foot on the road, I felt someone grab me by the arm and pull me back against them. A motorcycle dashed in front of me where I was about to cross, I stared with wide eyes and my hand on my chest trying to catch my breath.

I turned to look at the person who probably just saved my life, a tall blonde woman was looking at me with worry.

"Are you okay?" I read her lips, I nodded slowly and blinked a few times to try and focus back.

"I'm sorry, I'm deaf" I said out loud, she smiled and let go of my shoulders.

'Are you sure you okay?' she signed at me, I smiled back feeling a little relieved that she understood sign language.

'Thank you so much, you saved my life.' I signed back, she brushed it off with a smile.

'you looked like your were in a hurry, were you going somewhere?' she asked making me realize I was probably even more late than I was before and I was about to lose a job, my eyes widened as I looked at my watch to find that I was 20 minutes late.

'I'm so late for a job interview, I'm sorry. I have to go' I fixed my violin case strap on my shoulder and looked at both sides of the road before I cross but the woman grabbed my arm one more time.

'I can drive you there'

'no, I don't want to bother y-' she put her hands over mine to stop me from signing, and just gestured for me to follow her, she unlocked her Aston Martin vantage while I just stood there dumbfounded.

She opened the door for me and I felt myself blush at the simple gesture, I got inside and put my seatbelt on and sat there with my arms hugging my Violin case so I don't touch anything.

When she got in the car she stared at me amused at my nervous state and just shook her head with a smile.

I was in front of the firm in the matter of seconds, I think we flew there. I mean she had a sports car after all, I wasn't expecting anything less.

I hurried out of the car and remember I didn't get her name.

"I'm Vivienne" I said out loud so I don't have to sign it,

'Dalida'

she signed with a little smile on her face. I waved her goodbye and shut the door so gently before running inside the company. I went to the receptionist and she looked at me with a fake smile.

"I'm sorry, I have an interview with Ms. Falcon but I'm late, I had a little inconvenience" I said hurriedly, the receptionist said 'name'.

"Vivienne Gray" I watched her as she typed it before saying something that I couldn't read off of her lips,

"I'm sorry can you write it for me, I'm deaf" the girl gave me a dirty look for bothering her before taking a sticky note and writing whatever she said then handed it to me.

"Thanks" I snatched the note from her hand and headed to the elevator. 11th floor last door on the right.

Why did it have to be all the way up there, specially when I'm already late. The elevator took all the damn time it needed to reach the 11th floor, I ran to the door on the right and knocked. And waited for someone to open because I didn't know if they said come in or not.

A moment later, a short woman with brown hair and reading glasses opened the door. She raised her eyebrow at my state. I was breathing heavily, my cheeks were red from running through the hallway because with the luck I have the meeting room was at the very end of it.

"I'm sorry, I'm here for an interview with Ms. Falcon. I'm also deaf, so I didn't hear it if you said come in" I said everything all in one sentence before inhaling sharply, the woman stared at me for a while before she stepped out of the way to let me inside.

There wasn't anybody else but her in the room, which made me wonder if she was Ms. Falcon or not. The room was big and it has a door on the far left corner that lead to a bathroom probably, the chair that I suppose was mine had it's back turned to that door. While the table where the brunette sat was facing it, and me.

I took a deep breath and took off the blazer I was wearing and rolled up the sleeves to my white shirt. I opened the case and took my violin out, I was busy trying to get here that I didn't plan what music I was going to play.

I laid my chin on the chinrest and closed my eyes trying to concentrate, I have to play something they've never heard before to make up for being very late. Random notes that I've never played before, a foreign composition, a foreign piece that I've never even heard or seen before appeared in my head.

So I played it...
