"How could you?" He said shaking with anger. "Why Mia? We were so close. So close!" Mia was standing with her back against the brick wall. Her whole body were shaking, but she couldn't figure out if it was because of the cold weather or because she was scared. His body towered over her in a way that made her feel uneasy.

"I'm sorry." She said hesitant looking away and closing her eyes. She didn't want to see what was coming next.

"Why Mia? I just bought you a whole new wardrobe!" He yelled at her throwing the bags on the ground next to them. "And what do I get in return? You flirt with a coffee shop worker and run away. We were having a good time! Weren't we? Were you lying to me just to get to a fucking phone? Of course you were! I should have known!" His German accent was more noticeable when he was angry she had noticed.

"No. I didn't lie. I had a really good time today! I promise! Please believe me Tom, I mean it, I  was really happy with you!" She raised her voice so he would hear her.

Her blue eyes had started tearing up and when she looked up at him, so had his. His eyes, though much darker than hers, also had a thin coat of salty water on the waterline. Fuck his eyes were beautiful when he cried, she thought.

"Then why!" He asked brokenly but loudly his voice breaking. He looked tired and sad. She really broke his trust this time, he didn't think she would run away. He felt betrayed. Truly betrayed by her. For him this day would've changed it all for them, they bonded.

"Well I can't stay with you! I can't! I have a life at home, a family!"

"You have a family here too! The band is a family and we have opened you two with open arms!"

"But with closed fists! Fuck Tom! You're abusive! And I bet it wont take much time before Bill hurts Riley!"

"I wont hurt you Mia! I've told you, it wasn't my intention. And Bill isn't like that, he wouldn't hurt anyone, especially not her. He really likes her, and I like you! Why do you keep running away from me?" Both of them were still teary-eyed although yelling.

"I can't trust that, your promises mean nothing! I need to get home, I'm tired of running."  She sobbed, the words made him cry too, so she looked down at their shoes. He was wearing brand new black, white and red Jordans, and she her worn out converse's that were over two years old. He reached over and took her hand in his.

"Then don't. Please Mia, give me a chance. Can we please live like a couple for a week. A real couple where you don't try to escape every chance you get. I can't concentrate on anything, having to worry about you running away distracts me from my work. Let's, for a week, start over and pretend that nothing happened." He put forth, stroking her hand with his thumb. His words were sincere and Mia could tell. He wasn't crying anymore but his eyes were still watery and his cheeks wet. Her gaze moved from their shoes to his eyes once more. Her mascara was leaving streaks down her face and the makeup covering her bruise was starting to fade.

She wanted to tell him yes, for them to start over. He seemed like a genuinely nice person and probably had just been under a lot of stress and pressure from planning the tour. She wanted to know the real him, but she was horrified. But maybe she could just give it one chance. If it didn't work out he had already promised to buy Riley and her plane tickets home. So whats the worst that could happen?

"Okay. But I need you to respect that I can't always be your girlfriend, on the buss I mean. I'm gonna need time for myself." He smiled at her words and squeezed her hand tightly.

"No I know, I can't be with you all of the time ether, especially now with all the concerts and press that's coming up. But we're gonna need to act even closer to the media just because of that. The headlines are already stating that we wont make it through the tour. But we will be fine, we'll make it through this if we just agree on stuff and don't argue." She agreed and they looked at each other for a moment. He liked her eyes, they were light blue but in a way that didn't stand out. That's another thing he liked, she wasn't as 'out there' as other girls he met. She was quiet and calm but didn't stay silent when something bothered her. She took care of people, like a mother.
