Finally, senior year. I get to leave this shitty family and shitty life behind once I graduate.
"Jack," I hear the girl next to me start to wake up. I roll my eyes. I hate when they stay the night. "Come on, get up. You have to go," I rudely say to her.
She groans and sits up. "You're an asshole." She states and grabs her close. "I know," I shrug. She stomps away and I lay back down. I don't do relationships, it's not really my thing.
I lay in bed for a little longer before deciding to get up and get ready to school. I'm as quiet as possible while getting ready. Not wanting to wake up my dad.
"Where the fuck are you going?" I hear my little brother Hunter asks. He's 16 so he's not so little.
"School," I say emotionless. "Dads gonna be mad," I look up at him and see his busted lip. "I'll be fine, don't worry about me. Just stay safe and don't make him mad and please go to school, im leaving early because I have things to do." I sigh as I grab my house keys.
I can't wait to get out of here and take Hunter with me, he doesn't deserve to be going through all this shit. I usually drop him off but I couldn't today. He can catch a ride with a friend just as long as he gets out of the house on time.
I finish what I needed to do and head towards school. Before walking in, I wrap my bloody knuckles. First bell just rang and I could really care less.
I was looking down at my phone when I feel someone bump into me. I didn't even get a chance to react to them as they ran away yelling "Sorry but I have to go!" I shrug and walk to class.
Well I actually just went to the gym. I hate going to class, I mean what's the point. It's the same thing each year. Im only here so I can at least try and graduate for Hunter.
Hours later, the final bell rings. I sigh and grab my bag. "Jack Walker!" I hear Mr. Percy, our principal call out to me.
"Yep, that's me," I smile turning around. "Why weren't you in class today?" He asks now standing in front of me.
"I was, then I wasn't." I shrug and walk away. "Detention tomorrow after class Walker," I continue to walk away, ignoring him.
As I'm walking to my car, I notice a couple start to walk down the road. I keep looking as I see the guy leaving the girl behind.
"What a dick," I laugh to myself. I get in my car and turn to see them arguing about something, then he hits her. The fucking asshole hits her then shoves something towards her and leaves her behind again.
I sigh and start up my car. Not my problem. I look up again and they've disappeared. Oh well.
I drive home slowly. I pull into the driveway and slowly close the car door. Not wanting to wake up my dad who's most likely sleeping at the moment.
I carefully open the front door and sigh once I see he's no where to be seen, or so I thought.
"Where the fuck have you been?" He screams in my face as he shoves me to the ground. I groan and I look up at him. "School." I breath out.
"School?" He chuckled dryly. "Who the fuck would want to teach you? You can't do shit, let alone learn anything! Fucking worthless," He picks me up and starts to punch my stomach.
"Stop!" I scream at him and I push him off me, giving him a few blows to the face, knocking him out. I leave him there and limp to my room.
"Hunter?" I call out. No answer. Shit, I hope he's okay. "Hunter!" I call out once again. I open his door and he's no where to be seen. I begin to dial his number.
"What's up?" I hear from the other side. "Don't come home," I groan, holding onto my bruised stomach.
"What happened? I'll be right there!" I hear him scatter around. "No Hunter, don't come home tonight!" I say sternly and he sighs. "Will you be okay?" He asks.
"Yes," I say and hang up. I really don't need him to see this shit right now.
I clean myself up and managed to lay in bed, careful not to put too much weight on my body. I lay there and I can hear the door handle shake.
"Open this goddamn door Jack, right now before I fucking murder you." I sigh and grab a few pairs of clothes. He keeps pounding at the door and I ignore him. "You're fucking dead Jack, just wait. Dead!" He continues.
I manage to climb out of the window and I hit the floor with a thud. I started to run.
I only had once place I could go to if anything like this ever happens and that was the gym where I trained.
I snuck in and made myself comfortable, I would leave before anyone got here so I thankfully haven't been caught.
I drift off to sleep.
