I woke up in the middle of the night, Sarah had left earlier today after she helped me find a way to hide the cuts and bruises. She did an amazing job.
I checked the time and it was already 3 AM. Why am I even up at this ungodly hour?
I stare out the window and watch the trees move with the small breeze. I crack open my window and breathe in the fresh air. It's so calming.
I wish I could just escape this abuse. I almost got away from it. Then I met Zeke, I miss his loving affection. I really don't know what happened to him. He was perfect.
I let a tear slip and I quickly wiped it away, not wanting to ruin Sarah's work. I decide to just try and get some sleep in the mean time.
Luckily, I quickly fall asleep.
I wake up a few hours later, way too early for my liking. I go into my bathroom and inspect my face, it's not noticeable luckily but if you stare just long enough, you just might see it.
I get dressed and put on some leggings. My legs still hurt and i'm still in excruciating pain. I wince as I walk down the steps. Sighing as I reach the last one.
I make it outside and start my walk. It's a good 10 minute walk so it's not too bad. I was really regretting not bringing a jacket as it was pretty cold outside, and cloudy. It was definitely going to rain.
I see the building and walk faster to avoid being seen by anyone I know. With my luck, I bump into Angel.
"Hey Luna! Long time no see," He smiles. "Hey," I smile back. He puts his arm around me and I wince at the sudden movement but don't let him notice.
"We don't have any classes together this year," He frowns. "I know," I frown back at him. We continue talking and he walks me to English. "I'll see you later," He gives me a kiss on the cheek and walks away.
I look and see an angry faced Zeke. I fucked up.
I pretend I don't notice him and rush to my seat. Sarah is no where to be found. I frown to myself.
The day went by so fast, Zeke didn't speak a word to me and I was actually thankful.
I was about to walk out but I notice the thundering outside. Zeke left early for whatever reason, I didn't see Sarah all day, Mary gets to leave early and Angel had detention.
I sigh and look at my phone. It didn't look like it was going to be stopping anytime soon. I sigh and sit back on a chair, closing my eyes.
As I'm waiting I feel a presence approaching me. I ignore them and keep my eyes closed.
"Need a ride?" I open my eyes to the voice. "Uh no, i'm waiting for a friend," I lie, not wanting to converse with this stranger.
"There's no one left in the building," He gives me a confused look. "I can give you a ride. Wait here, let me bring my car," I didn't even get a chance to respond before he was already walking away.
I sigh and grab my bag. I wait for his car to approach the schools entrance and rush inside.
"Sorry, your seats gonna be kinda wet..." I whisper as I look down. "What happened to your face?" He asks with wide eyes. I start to panic and I look at myself in the mirror.
"Oh fuck, fuck fuck fuck. Nothing," I quickly look away embarrassed trying to hide my face as best as possible.
"Well something happened." I ignore him and he continues asking questions. "Thank you for the ride but I don't know you and it's really not any of your business what happened. You can drop me off here." I say and place a hand on the door handle.
"You're right, im sorry, I won't ask any more questions. Just let me drop you off."
I don't say anything except to give him directions. He reaches my house and I start to panic as I see Zeke.
"What's wrong?" The stranger asks. "Um nothing, please don't tell anyone about this. Thank you for not letting me walk in the rain, but I have to go now." I rush out and race to the front door.
"Wait but I didn't-." I ignored him once more as I walked into the house.
"Zeke?" I ask looking around for him. "About time." I jump as he walks out of the bathroom. "Jesus, you scared me." I breath out.
"I just came to see if you'd make it home," He shrugs.
"Well i'm here, and I have a lot of homework to catch up on." I say as I drop my bag on the ground.
"What's with the fucking attitude, huh?" He says as he gets a hold of my hair. I wince as he starts basically dragging me to my bed.
"I'm sorry!" I manage to scream out.
