"She works at Art Life, owns 45% of the shares." Carla said one day, over breakfast.

Serkan put his spoon down, he knew who she was referring to. As welcoming and kind as Carla was, she seemed to always push him towards returning to his former life. Specially regarding, Eda Yıldız.

Carla thought that he should have at least called his loved ones by now. She understood his fears and questions, but he was acting as an ostritch, hiding from circumstances. And this wasn't fair to his loved ones, specially his fiancee. If her lover went missing like that, she would probably lose her mind. The girl probably thought him dead.

"You looked her up ?" Serkan asked almost offended, he didn't knew why, it felt like poking at a wound his heart, or brain, he didn't knew which, didn't want to.

Carla looked at him incredulously. "How else would you find out about a person in the 21st century ? Why didn't you look her up ? Aren't you even... just curious ?" She asked.

"I don't know, I guess I don't feel ready..." Serkan lied. The idea of looking up, someone he was linked to, felt incredibly weird.

It felt like stalking, but also insulting, he didn't want to know his own fiancee through a Wikipedia page or gossip articles. He hadn't even seen a picture of her, yet. He didn't knew why, maybe Carla was right when she said he was escaping his own life.

"Well, she's your work partner. That should make sense, that's probably how you met." Carla shrugged as Serkan sat thoughtfully.

Last he recalled, Selin owned those shares. It's not like he cared about Selin, but he didn't like change. Change scared him.

"Art Life must be drowning in crisis by now." He sighed, pinching his nose.

"Not really, first thing I saw is that they received some award that, Eda Yıldız collected, for some ecological project it seems." Carla frowned.

She thought of Serkan as a good person, and he'd become a good friend. But men, and their arrogance, thinking that the company would collapse in his absence, that Eda woman seemed to handle it pretty well.

Serkan frowned. "Really, we do ecological projects now ?" He rubbed his temple. Having someone else handle his work made him feel uneasy. At least Selin didn't challenge or shadow him professionnally.

"And what does she do, Eda Yıldız ?" He asked curiously, in which title was this woman even receiving awards, he thought Engin was his delegate regarding Art Life.

"She's a landscape architect, paysagist. I couldn't find where she graduated from...but Serkan, she's winning awards and clients praise her. She seems good at her work." Carla said taking a sip of orange juice.

Serkan felt uneasy at the thought, he had built Art Life with only trusted childhood friends. Having someone completely new, a stranger, to whom he was romantically linked that too, owning half of the shares sounded very strange.

He nodded pensively. "There's one more thing." Carla began in a softer tone.

He looked at her. "You were about to marry her." She informed.

Serkan sighed, looking at his ring. "Yes I know, we were engaged." He said, the fact irritating him for no reason, how could he accept a relationship he had absolutely no recollection of ?

"No Serkan, you were going to marry her, the day your plane crashed." She made a pause and watched his eyes widen in shock. "Articles say you literally left her at the altar, and never came back. Some nonsensical gossip even suspect a conspiracy, that you purposely stage this to escape the wedding."
