It starts with home

a place to stay

After they let us have some snacks they asked us where our parents where. Which I replied to "on their way to hell"

They both looked kind of shocked to the response. But it didn't matter. Eventually I told them some things while my sisters slept; They didnt like hearing about our abusive parents.

It made them really scared. The elder kids looked sad to what I had to say and gave me an offer "Well, we can let you stay here! It's not the best but maybe I can ask my parents if they'd let you stay at our house?" The man says, I look at my hands on my knees, the scratches and bruises on them.

"O-okay.." I say, kind of whispering but I knew he heard me 'cause I saw him smile and then say "great!"

Then the rain FINALLY started to quiet down, it sounded peaceful.. "you can rest up, if you want we can be here so you feel more comfortable" the young man says rubbing the back of his neck with his left hand, looking up at the metal roof of his play house. "Im- I'm sleepy, but can you...uhh...leave please?" I say, I'm nervous while asking them to leave. I thought they'd yell at me like my parents did.

They were nice though, "Yeah of course! Well I guess we can go home now.. but uhh we'll be back tomorrow if you wanna stay.." the man says playing around with his thumbs. "Yeah.. o-okay thanks" I say kind of worried for not much of a reason, they seemed really nice.

"Well goodbye little one! Sleep well" the young lady says with a smile as her and the boy get out of their little home. I try to get comfortable on a bean bag they had at a corner, it was comfortable to sit on, not so much for sleep though. But it was better than a cold floor drenched with urine and blood... I close my eyes and sigh, 'finally, I'm free' I think as I slowly fall asleep all curled up on the bean bag.
