"Sen çok seviyorum." Serkan whispered softly, the back of his fingers stroking her chin.
.....
Serkan had gone to the bathroom and cleaned himself, Engin bringing him a change as his shirt was stained with Eda's blood. He had taken a coffee, there was no way he wound go home today. He was still concerned, but his friend's visit had calmed him. It was a head concussion, it happened. Engin promised him that Eda was strong and would be okay.
Serkan couldn't imagine how he would have reacted if anything worst had happened to her. He lost his mind at a regular head trauma, if one day she had to be in more pain, or something happened to her, Serkan wouldn't be able to bear it. It triggered a realisation in him : he loved her too much. He couldn't let her go.
He'd tell her the truth, he had to. He owed their beautiful, pure bond. He owed her the truth. She deserved his honesty. Serkan came back to her, her stillness and weakness made his heart ache. He couldn't help but blame himself. Eda was so full of life, light and joy. He had hurt her, done this to her. Caused the pain he could see in her eyes.
He held her hand in his softly, craddling her, as he silently watched the slow and steady rise and fall of her chest. He'd take care of her, if she let him.
She seemed in a lighter sleep now thought, he could see her eyes move behind her eyelids, and tremors shook her hands, she seemed to moan too, in unsrestlessness.
Serkan stroke her face. "Sshh..." he let out softly, then ever so slowly lightly tapped her shoulder, trying to put her back at rest like patting a baby. She wouldn't settle however, she mumbled something uncomprehensible and her lips moved.
Eda felt hot, as if she was in an oven. She felt blinded, as if the sun was burning her retinas even behind her closed eyelids. She squeezed her eyes shut even more tight. Her head hurt so badly, she felt it would explose if she even moved a milimeter. Her thoat felt dry.
"Eda..." she heard a soft voice, his voice. "Iyi misin ?" He asked.
Serkan watch her with concern, she seemed in disconfort. He stroke her cheek. "Open your eyes, bak bana, hadi..." he encouraged softly.
Eda didn't want to, everything hurt so much, she just wanted to go back to oblivion but his soft voice and the soothing caresses he gave her made her want to. She forced herself to open her eyelids, blinking and closing them moaning as the harsh lights made her head hurt even more.
He squeezed her hand and she frowned in concentration, trying again and saw him sitting bending over her at his concern. Serkan ! She jerked her hand away from his, willing to take it to her pounding head and hold it, in hope to ease the blinding pain but the wires attached to it got stuck, pinching her skin.
Serkan caught her hand again, placing it softly beside her and squeezing it. "Noldu ?" Eda whispered in a broken voice.
"You fell and hit your head." He explained, and Eda caught the genuine worry in his eyes, on his almost panic filled face. Eda frowned and groaned in pain.
"Can you put off the lights ?" She requested and Serkan seemed to rush to fulfill her plea, he shut the light and closed the blinds, thinking back to the doctor's words and cursing himself for not thinking about it before.
"Here, how do you feel ?" He asked in concern.
Eda starred at him in confusion, she could barely focus on anything. Why was he showing her so much concern ? Perhaps she was hallucinating.
"Ben iyim Serkan, I am not dead. You can leave." She whispered with efforts, her eyes filling with tears. She was tired, so tired. She couldn't have him express such concern and affection towards her if it was to hurt her and show her he didn't care one bit about her the next moment.
