Everything has gotten worse.

I originally thought that the alternates were harmless creatures that would disappear after a day or two, but boy was I wrong.

Since the incident with mom, I haven't gone back to the house at all. Im 99% sure mom got turned into an alternate when this fiasco first started, so i'm glad I trusted my gut and stayed outside.

I still have no clue where dad is, or if he's safe, but i'm hoping he's still a human and not one of... them.

I'm still hiding with Rowley and his mom, and I think they're both starting to go cray cray. His mom makes multiple trips a day to grocery stores, and when she's not shopping she's frantically boarding up the house with whatever she can find.

I don't know how she enters and leaves the house with all the planks covering the windows and doors, but she somehow manages to not mess up any of her work.

Rowley cries a lot, and I think its because he misses his dad. I don't have the heart to tell him that his dad is probably dead, or worse, an alternate, so hopefully he'll figure it out soon.

Today Mrs. Jefferson asked me if I could come to MartMart with her. I needed something to do, and I wanted to look for my dad and brothers so I said yes.

She drove us down to MartMart, and when I walked inside I saw my dad. He was fighting other people for a 24 pack of toilet paper, and when he succeeded in getting his prize he turned around and looked at me.

Neither of us said anything. Mrs. Jefferson was in the garden section looking at shovels, so I couldn't hide behind her from my dad's weird gaze.

Finally my dad broke the stare down by shrugging his shoulders and giving me a strange look. He then proceeded to turn back down into the bathroom alley and fight with more people.

Mrs. Jefferson got the items she needed and she drove us back home silently. I helped her bring in the groceries and board up more windows, doors, and vents for the night.

After we made the house secure we all sat in Rowley's room and read books. Apparently, they can get you from the TV's, so Mrs. Jefferson got rid of every single one in her house.

At around 7 PM Rowley's mom made us go to bed. Thats way to early for me, but i'm not gonna risk staying up late and accidentally meeting an alternate.

The next day we all got up and gathered into the living room to read the newspaper. Apparently Roderick and Manny are both alive and well, and they even have a group dedicated to killing alternates.

Im planning on seeing them today or tomorrow, because I need some more survival advice.

I talked with Rowley about meeting up with my bros and he brought up my dad. I told him that I saw him at the supermarket but he looked weird. Rowley suggested that he might've been on drugs or was turned into an alternate.

So yeah. If what Rowley is saying is true, then I probably wont see dad again. I don't know how to feel about that.
