You and Tokoyami were always close, since you were one of the only people Dark Shadow liked, and that made him drawn to you. Finally, he confesses, and you two start dating.
He likes to have long conversations with you about anything and everything. Even the real stuff. You don't mind. you like that he trusts you.
"what if Dark Shadow ever hurt you?" He asks you one night.
"I don't think he ever will." you say, surprised he was bringing this up.
"what if he does? It will have been my fault!" He exclaims.
"no. Dark Shadow has a mind of his own. It will have been his fault and I probally deserved it." you say, trying to calm Tokoyami down.
"don't say that." He says softly.
"what brought this up all of a sudden?"
"Dark Shadow has been acting up lately, and I really care about you. I don't want him to hurt you..."
"nothing can hurt me when you're protecting me." you lean on his shoulder and flip the lights off.
"what are you doing?!?" He asks, jumping up and turning the light back on.
"proving my point." you turn it off again, and Dark Shadow makes his appearance, floating over to you, nuzzling up against you. "see?" You say. Tokoyami laughs.
"yeah I guess your right." He sits back down next to you.
"I always am." You lean back on him, Dark Shadow on your shoulder like a blanket.
