Chapter 3

After Ahsoka recovered, her and Anakin returned to the Temple. However, Anakin could tell that Ahsoka was far from okay. When they reached their apartment, they walked in and closed the door and walked into the living room. Anakin led her over to the couch and sat down with her. He said gently: "Snips, you are far from okay. Talk to me. I want to help you. What's wrong?" Ahsoka said: "it's nothing. I'm going to go train." Then Ahsoka stood and walked out of the apartment and walked to the training room and grabbed her lightsabers and grabbed a training droid and turned it on and set it on the highest setting and stepped back and ignited her lightsabers and rapidly deflected the stun bolts. Anakin watched from the doorway. He was worried about Ahsoka. She was shutting him out. But he didn't know why. And it worried him. After a while, Ahsoka stopped and turned the training droid off and deactivated her lightsabers and clipped them to her utility belt and turned around and said: "Anakin. How long have you been standing there?" Anakin said: "long enough to know that you're shutting me out. And it worries me. Why are you so reluctant to talk to me, Snips?" Ahsoka ran past him out of the training room. She ran out of the Temple and ran down the steps and entered the lower levels of Coruscant. She walked around the lower levels of Coruscant. Anakin ran out of the Temple and ran down the steps and entered the lower levels of Coruscant and looked around. He spotted Ahsoka thanks to her red outfit. Ahsoka spotted a young boy being beaten by a couple of thugs. Ahsoka took off running and Force jumped up, grabbing her lightsabers as she went. She ignited her lightsabers in midair and landed in front of the young boy and said in a pissed off voice: "Leave. Him. Alone! He's done nothing to warrant you using him as a human  punching bag! I'm a Jedi who really, really doesn't feel like going into aggressive negotiations right now! I've already killed one person! Don't make me do it again! Get the hell away from him or so help me, I will go into aggressive negotiations! And you really don't want to find out the full extent of my temper!" The thugs gulped and fled. Ahsoka deactivated her lightsabers and clipped her lightsabers to her utility belt and turned around and said gently: "are you okay, young one?" The young boy said: "yeah. Thanks. You saved my life. My name is Ezra Bridger." Ahsoka said: "my name is Ahsoka Tano. You're really strong in the Force." Ezra said: "thanks Ahsoka. What's the Force?" Ahsoka explained about the Force and the Jedi and the Sith. She said gently: "where's your parents?" Ezra said: "they're dead. I'm on my own." Ahsoka helped Ezra to his feet and wrapped her arms around him and said gently: "how about you come back with me to the Temple?" Ezra said: "okay. I have nothing to lose." Ahsoka walked with Ezra. Ezra practically glued himself to her side. Ahsoka wrapped her arms around him and gently rubbed his back. The sixteen year old togruta Jedi Padawan didn't know why she had sprang into action. She saw Anakin and said: "my Master is incredibly stubborn." They walked over to Anakin. Anakin said: "I did not see that one coming. You just saved this boy's life." Ahsoka said: "we'll talk later. The Council is going to want to know about Ezra. He's practically glued to my hip." Ahsoka lifted Ezra up and settled him on her hip and supported him and walked back to the Temple with Ezra on her hip and walked up the steps and entered the Temple and walked down the hall and entered the Council chambers where there was a meeting in place. Master Windu said: "Padawan Tano, I'm sure you have a good reason for interrupting this meeting." Ahsoka said: "I do. I found this boy in the lower levels of Coruscant. He's Force sensitive. The Force is very strong in him." Master Windu said: "looks like he practically glued himself to your hip." Ahsoka said: "to be fair, I did save his life. So naturally he feels comfortable with me." Master Windu said: "he'll have to be trained." Ahsoka said: "I can work with him in my spare time when I'm not on a mission with Master Skywalker." Master Windu said: "are you sure that you're up for this responsibility? You're only sixteen years old. You're still a Padawan yourself." Ahsoka said determinedly: "I can handle the extra responsibility." Master Windu said: "okay. Just as long as it doesn't hinder your schoolwork and training." Ahsoka said: "I can do it." Then Ahsoka left the Council chambers and looked at Ezra and said gently: "I had a feeling that you wouldn't feel comfortable around the other Masters. That's why I chose to take on the extra responsibility." Ezra said: "you're still a Padawan yourself and you're willing to train me?" Ahsoka said: "I sure am. I just have to make a schedule. I can juggle the three. I can train with my Master in the morning, then go to classes, then train you. I'm doing great in all of my classes. The reason why that is, is because I do my homework while on missions with my Master while we're on his flagship. That way I stay ahead in all my classes. Even the ones that I don't really like. But I endure it because one day, I know that I'm going to graduate and I want to graduate knowing that I worked hard to get to that day. Come on. Let's go find my Master." Then they walked off. Ahsoka hummed a song that her mother had taught her once when she was a child. Ahsoka had very few memories of her mother. But she kept the ones that she did have. She found Anakin in the Room Of A Thousand Fountains talking to Obi-Wan. Ahsoka cloaked her Force signature. Because she was a togruta, she could hear the conversation clearly. After a while Obi-Wan left. Ahsoka dropped the cloak. Anakin sensed Ahsoka's Force signature close by. He said: "Snips? Where are you?" Ahsoka stepped out from where her and Ezra had been hiding. She said: "right here." Anakin stood and said: "Ahsoka. How long have you been in here?" Ahsoka said: "let's just say that I heard the entire conversation clearly because I'm a togruta. I've been in here for a while since I came back from talking to the Council. They agreed that Ezra needs to be trained. I volunteered to train him. He trusts me. I took on the extra responsibility. I'm going to train him. I know that I'm still a Padawan myself and only sixteen years old. But I can train him when I'm not training with you. I can handle the extra responsibility. But I know that he wouldn't feel comfortable with the other Masters." Anakin said: "are you sure?" Ahsoka said: "positive." Anakin said: "okay. Just don't push yourself to the point of exhaustion." Ahsoka said: "Skyguy, back on Shili, I taught the village children. The principal applies here." Anakin said gently: "Snips, you have my full support. If this is what you decide to do, then I stand behind you 100 % of the way. You're more than just my Padawan. You're my little sister for all intent purposes." Ahsoka smiled softly and said: "come on. Let's head back to the apartment. We'll talk after Ezra gets cleaned up and has had a proper meal. I had two little brothers back on Shili whom I was basically the primary care giver of. I bathed them, fed them, dressed them, in essence, I basically raised them myself. So I'm pretty used to having to do the job that nobody likes doing. I'm pretty used to doing the messy job." Then they walked back to Anakin's apartment and walked in. Ahsoka walked into the refresher and set Ezra down and helped Ezra undress. Then she turned the water on and got it to a reasonable temperature and put bubbles in and helped Ezra in and grabbed the soap and a sponge and bathed Ezra from head to toe. She got wet in the process. But she didn't care. Once Ezra was thoroughly cleaned up, Ahsoka drained the water and dried Ezra off with a thick fluffy towel and walked into the spare room and found him some clothes and helped Ezra get dressed. Then she scooped him up and settled him on her hip and walked out of the spare room and set him down on one of the chairs at the table and walked into the kitchen and set to work cooking. She fixed a meal native to Shili. Anakin said: "I didn't know that you know how to cook." Ahsoka said: "lost my parents early on. I'm the oldest of three kids. As a result, I became the parent. My two little brothers are Force sensitive as well. They came with me when I came to the Temple. I can tell you, you've already met them. You know those two togruta mischief makers you pulled apart a while back? That was my little brothers. They got a talking to from me. I've made this meal so many times, I can make it from memory. It's native to Shili. You just happened to have the ingredients on hand." Anakin said: "sure smells good." Ahsoka said: "thanks. Wait until you try it." A few minutes later Ahsoka was done cooking and put it on plates and set it on the table and grabbed silverware and set it on the table. Then they ate supper. After supper, Ahsoka put Ezra to bed and tucked him in and said gently: "sleep tight, Ezra." Then she walked out of the spare room and helped Anakin with the dishes. Anakin said: "you're all wet." Ahsoka said: "eh. That's what happens when you bathe a child. They make it into a water fight and splash you." Anakin chuckled and said: "well, you certainly know how to handle bath time." Ahsoka said: "believe me, I'm quite used to it by now and am quite used to getting wet." Anakin chuckled and said: "you've grown a great deal. I'm proud of you." A few minutes later they were finished with the dishes and dried their hands. Then Ahsoka went and changed clothes and returned wearing her pajamas. She walked into the living room where Anakin was sitting on the couch. She walked over and sat down on the couch beside Anakin. Anakin said gently: "Snips, why won't you talk to me?" Ahsoka said: "Because I felt guilty and I needed time alone to get past that. And I did when I saved Ezra. I had to put my feeling of guilt aside for his sake." Anakin said: "Ahsoka, I love you dearly." He pulled her into his arms. Ahsoka snuggled up in his arms and nestled her head in his chest and fell asleep purring. Anakin chuckled and scooped her up and stood and walked into his room and set her down on the bed and tucked her in. Then he changed into pajamas himself and climbed in bed beside her and fell asleep himself.
