Nathan had always been a happy-go-lucky guy, despite his struggles with his identity. He had a close group of friends, who he had confided in about his true self. It had always been a source of comfort for Nathan to have their support.
One day, however, everything changed. Nathan's friends suddenly turned on him. They had decided, for reasons Nathan could never understand, that he was no longer welcome in their group. In fact, they wanted him out of the picture altogether.
Nathan's friends had hired someone to take him into the woods and hurt him. They had planned the entire thing, down to the last detail. It was a cruel and vicious attack, the kind that left scars that never really healed.
Nathan was able to make it out alive, but he was never the same again. He lost faith in people, in friendship, and in himself. The trauma had left him deeply scarred, both physically and emotionally.
Despite his efforts to move on, Nathan was never able to shake the feeling that he was alone in the world. He couldn't trust anyone, not even himself. And so he retreated further and further into himself, until eventually he withdrew completely.
Nathan's cat, Mindy, was the only living thing that remained by his side. She was his constant companion, his source of comfort and love. But even she couldn't bring him back to the world
