Grandparent headcanons

Brooke

Is always so happy whenever she has to babysit or the girls come for family events.

Kendra and Kenna once helped Brooke make a scrapbook for their parents' anniversary, they spent the whole day doing it. It was the girls first craft project and Brooke loves encouraging their artistic sides.

Brooke isn't much of a cook, Uncle Alan is the cook of the family. But Brooke almost always orders takeout from whatever the girls are in the mood for.

For their 5th birthday party, she got Kenna a watercolor painting kit and Kendra a glass jewelry making kit. Wade and Ember said it was too much money but Brooke insisted "she just wanted to spoil them just this once."

Other headcanons

She was in tears when Ember and Wade told her the meanings behind Kenna and Kendra's names.

Her very first gift to them was a mini model of Element City, specifically her apartment building so they always remember where grandma is. 

Cinder

Loves both girls so much and indulges them with all her hobbies, to an extent. Whenever they come over she always lets them watch soap operas with her and gets a kick of explaining to them "why this person is here even though they died" or "why she doesn't love him" she leaves anything deemed too inappropriate by their mother.

She was the third person to hold them when they were born.

Whenever they visit Fire Town and the Fire Place, they love to follow her around. Kenna and Kendra, especially, love helping her with love readings. Which she still does even with Flarry and Flarrieta taking over.

Her first gift to them was a photo of her holding them both together in a purple frame made of melted glass. The girls have on the second shelf of their bookshelf, where they can always see it.

Whenever they visit the first thing they say is how much they love Grandma's cooking. Cinder always smiles at this and is happy to make anything they want.

Other head canons

She never misses a birthday and whether or not she's at the party, she always gets a gift for them, typically something more practical and nostalgic.

She was the one to tell them about their parents' reading, and how their father was admirably relentless when it came to winning Ember over in her words. The girls love hearing her version of the story and always laugh and gush at it. 

Bernie

He brought the lantern with the blue flame inside, to bless both of them when he visited Wade and Ember at the hospital. And he was worried it would harm them but was pleased to know that it didn't.

His heart melted when he held them both for the first time. He laughed when Kenna sneezed like Ember did all those years ago. He even shedded a small tear that day.

His first gift to them was a soothing toy to go above the crib. They were both the same, made after his favorite things to sell in the store.

He helped Wade build the cribs, he says it's still one of his favorite memories before the girls were born.

He always looks forward to when Kendra and Kenna come over. He always is reminded of Ember when he sees them around the store. He also loves when they want to help Flarry and Flarietta with anything.

He was amazed when he saw that Kenna is able to make coal nuts, he boasts about how she beat her mother's record

He loves telling them stories about his family from Fire Land and he and Cinder's own personal traditions.

He loves them both so much and never stops saying how proud he is of them both.
