"Yeh dekho.. it has a secret underground tunnel here..it goes all the way long to West?" Karan looked at the files.
"What is the guarantee that it still stays?" Ruhaan asked.
"Umm.. guys look" Fida called them & showed the map.
"It has a lot of tunnel ways.. Often people from past created a maze of tunnels, so that they get confused. It is only the higher officials, mainly the king who knows the correct one" Mahira told them weaving her hands through the worn out map.
"But why make it so confused?" Ruhaan asked.
"Yeah.. werent these made for an escape plan, so if an invasion happened they could escape?" Karan asked.
"Its the general reason, but so much of palace have their treasures stored under the palace, that would be vast enough to store the gold & diamonds they captured. When theives & other kingdom planned to invade the palace, they would get confused with the tunnels. Being under there for days they go haywire & die at last" Fida told them.
"So are you saying there is treasure under here?" Ruhaan asked.
"May be? May be not" Mahira answered.
"But, looking at this map..Dont you guys find it amusing?" Fida asked as she compared the maps spread on the floor.
"Yep..It..Hey..this is connecting-" Karan said as he looked it through different angles.
"This tunnel leads here, & this & this, here, here-" Karan exclaimed looking at it carefully.
Indeed some of the tunnels were leading to the rooms inside the palace.
"Why would they make it like this?" Mahira mumbled.
"Looks like, who ever ruled or built the Kingdom had trust issues" Ruhaan said laughing.
"Huh? What?" Fida asked him confused.
"Arey dekho.. yeh mahal kiske liye banayi thi? Resting Inn for Princess, often the guests from outside was bought here or made to stay here. Why would Princess need a Resting Inn? Obviously she had to go out of the palace, it only means two things, one this Princess was who often took part in Wars or the Princess was making treaties with other kingdom" Ruhaan answered.
"You mean..This palace was built for understanding who our foes are who our friends were? But why would someone go far as this to build a mahal here?" Mahira asked.
"When something is declined often it leads to war... ..... Then this is small" Ruhaan brushed off.
"But its a theory" Fida told them.
"Look this is a vast enough kingdom. If looking at the year written on the map here, then uss time, only a handful of kingdoms were present then, & you know a lot of today's countries were still a part of hindustan. & If we look at geography, then we could see how ocean had taken up the land more over time" Fida said.
"Hmm we are in the southern part of India. Look at here, The map shows the border of the kingdom in between today's Madhyapradesh. That means this Kingdom was spread throughout Karnataka,Telengana, Maharashtra & Madhyapradesh. This kingdom must have been inside this state" Mahira added.
"Utni vast hogi?" Ruhaan asked doubtfully.
"Patha nahin..may be the kingdom lost its area Or some invasion by other King..some thing like that must had happend" Fida uttered.
"Karan.. where are you lost?" Mahira asked Karan.
"Huh? I..I..dont know! Just..would it be some insiders who attacked from the back of their king?" Karan asked looking on.
