A few days later, ten in the evening to be exact, Minho showed up drunk, barely holding himself up as he swayed side to side, trying to find support in the beige-colored walls of the hallway.
Hyunjin was the one to open the door as Jisung was busy preparing food for themselves. The mac and cheese was almost done, but Hyunjin went to get the door anyway, even though he was scared for his life thinking it was some murderer.
He quickly disappeared from Jisung's sight. However, when Hyunjin didn't return after three minutes, Jisung began to worry. Turning off the stove, he left the food there, hurrying to see where his roommate was. What he didn't expect, was Hyunjin holding up Minho, trying to help him inside to the couch, while the older mumbled incoherent sentences. Jisung stood, baffled, as he stared at the man who was completely unaware of his surroundings.
"Uhh.. should I.. bring a glass of water?" - Jisung asked, wanting to help his friend and Minho.
"Yeah.. that might be a good idea.. I'm surprised he managed to come here in one piece." - he said after he lay down Minho, and sat next to him, carding his hair with his fingers.
When Jisung returned, glass in hand, he found Minho laying on his back, his hands covering his face, his shoulders shaking. Was he crying?
"Hyunjin!" - he whispered, trying to catch the blonde's attention. When the taller turned, Jisung raised his eyebrows.
"What happened?" - he mouthed, but Hyunjin just shrugged, an "I don't know" could be read off his lips in reply. Jisung watched with worried eyes, Hyunjin turned his head, his hands lightly touching Minho's hands to peel them off of his eyes.
"What happened, Hyung?"
Minho's eyes, one already bruising, were wet with tears, as he blinked up at his friend. He was silent for a few seconds before his lips quivered again.
"I h-hate this" - he hiccuped, his words coming out slurred due to the amount of alcohol he had consumed.
"What do you hate, Min?" - the two watched the oldest in silence, equally concerned. They didn't want to ask about his black eye, only hoping he would tell them how he got that.
"It-it happened again.."
"Oh.. which...?" - Hyunjin's voice got softer and somewhat uncertain. Jisung could only think to himself 'what does he mean /which/?', but he didn't want to ask, not yet at least.
"I... She- she said she was single.."
"Oh god.. not this again.." - Hyunjin sighed into his hands, then messaging his forehead with his fingers. His voice was lower, and Minho probably didn't even hear him, or he just simply continued without acknowledging Hyunjin's words, fat tears still rolling down his cheeks.
"A-and.. she had kids too.." - he choked out.
"Let me guess, his husband found out?" - Hyunjin huffed, his arms on his knees, hands supporting his chin. Jisung silently made his way over to the abandoned armchair, they used for a lot of things except for sitting.
"H-he kicked me out and he wanted me to fight him.. but- but I didn't want to! I didn't know!"
"Oh, Hyung.. it's not your fault.."
"The only time I decide to give a chance to women again.. this happens!"
"It's okay Min, but.. did the husband hit you?"
"Yeah.. when I said I didn't want to fight.. I hate myself so much.. I didn't hit back.."
"No Hyung, it was not your fault, okay?
"I- I asked her.. twice.. and she- she denied having a husband, denied having a family... they-" - he hiccuped - "they will file for a divorce.. because of me.." - he started sobbing again, his whole body trembling.
"Hyung.."
"I hate myself.. I hate doing this so much..." - Minho wailed, and the other two felt their heartbreak as they listened to his pained cries.
"Sungie, can you stay here with him for a minute? I will go get some creams and disinfectant for his bruises."
"Oh, sure" - Jisung quickly jumped up on his feet, on his way to sit next to Minho. He was about unsure, what if Minho didn't want him near? He would understand that..
"Jisung.."
"Hi Hyung.. Do you mind if I..?"
"No.. stay here please.." - Minho closed his eyes, once Jisung was sat next to him.
"Can I do anything for you?" - Jisung asked, feeling jittery from being so close to the man who he had slept twice. Apart from that, they didn't really have a decent conversation, so it was understandable that Jisung felt awkward.
"Hold my hand like you did last time.." -, he slurred, eyes still tightly shut as he held out his hand for Jisung.
Jisung's eyes widened just for a second, and he almost stuttered out a what, but he decided on staying silent and do what he could to make him feel better.
like last time
Jisung wondered, what was it like last time? When he cleaned Minho up? When he received aftercare, which was an unknown word for Minho until their last time together?
"Okay.." - he settled on that and put his warm hands into Minho's. The reaction was immediate, Minho's hand clutched his, and a small satisfied smile from the older made Jisung flustered.
"What's going on..?" - Hyunjin whisper-shouted to Jisung, seeing the two holding hands when he reappeared with a box in his hands.
"He asked me" - Jisung shrugged like he didn't just want to melt from how their warm hands fitted together a minute ago. Not to mention, that a totally handsome and hot guy asked him to hold his hand.
Hyunjin shot him a knowing look but surged forward to help his friend.
After Minho was all patched up, they brought him a pillow and a blanket to the couch. They also set a bucket on the side, in case of emergency. The two figured they would let Minho rest there and not move him around more.
"Let's eat dinner now.. we should let him rest.." - Jisung announced as he watched Hyunjin tuck in his friend.
"Alright.. it must be cold now.."
"At least he is okay.." - their voices were hushed, not wanting to wake him up, though they were sure Minho wouldn't wake anytime soon - "Sorry about this.."
"No, don't apologise, he is your friend, and even if he wasn't I would've helped him too, okay? Let's just eat now."
"We should talk about this in the morning when he wakes up and he's sober.." - Hyunjin stated earning a nod from Jisung, their eyes lingering on Minho's chest rising up and down. He was quickly out, sleeping like a log, while Hyunjin and Jisung ate their mac and cheese.
They will have an interesting conversation tomorrow, Jisung was sure of it.
