Chapter 5

By early morning, the three Arendelleians had awoken and made the walk down to the sheriffs station, where Emma and Hook were keeping an eye on the two brothers.

"Morning," Emma greeted Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff as they walked into the main room. "Did they behave over night?" Elsa asked her friends as she crossed her arms and glanced over at the two cells, each holding one sleeping Prince.

"For the most part." Emma shot a glare at Jurgen, who was snoring rather loudly in his sleep. Elsa sighed softly and returned to conversing with Emma while Anna and Kristoff got closer to the cell Hans was in.

"I should wake him up. By ringing a gong in his ear." Anna mumbled and crossed her arms as well, while Kristoff merely chuckled. "As much as I would enjoy that, I have a feeling he wouldn't react the way you want him to."

Anna blinked once, then moved her eyes off Hans and to her fiancé. "Why do you think that?"

"Didn't you see how he acted yesterday? Especially to Elsa? It looked much different from what you described about him."

"Yeah well-"

"Maybe he has remorse."

Anna and Kristoff turned around, coming face to face with Elsa. The couple only blinked. Elsa smiled softly and cast a gaze to Hans before it swiftly went back to the princess and the ice master. "Really, I do believe the man feels more then just the lust to hurt." She murmured, and this time it was Anna who turned to look at the sleeping Prince.

"....I'll believe it when I hear it and he can prove it." She narrowed her eyes at Hans as he slowly started to wake, crossing her arms even tighter.

Hans slowly sat up and blinked at the three blurry figures in front of his cell door until the sleep wore away from his eyes.

"Good you're awake," Emma said as she walked over, taking a key out of her pocket.

"W-what are you doing-" Anna took a step forward, but Elsa caught her arm. "Emma's letting him out. There's nothing he's done HERE that's worthy of jail time. His brother, on the other hand-"

"But but in Arendelle! He tried to slaughter you! And left me to die! That is defiantly jail time worthy!"

"That was all in Arendelle. Laws here are different. Don't worry; Hook promises to keep a close eye on him."

Elsa and Anna turned to the pirate, who gave them a small salut. The two women giggled, making Kristoff turn to look over at Hook as well. He turned his head and whistled innocently.

Kristoff give him a deadpanned look.

"Thank you, miss..-"

"Swan. Emma Swan." Emma introduced herself to the prince as she took off his handcuffs, then led him over to introduce him and Hook. Elsa watched all the while, closely, before whispering to Anna; "There's something there that wasn't there before."

Anna blinked at her sister but the Queen just smiled softly, before all six people left the building.
