The 'clop' of a horse's gallop against wet grass was all that could be heard throughout the charred remains of what was once Hyrule Field, a once thriving settlement, now reduced to ash. The torrential downpour above continued without any sign of letting up any time soon.
Upon the horse's back was a young woman, controlling the mighty stead. The rider had flowing blonde hair, emerald, green eyes, and with an almost Royal persona about her. "It always seems to rain at times like this, doesn't it?" The rider said quietly, squinting up at the stormy sky before looking down at the lifeless body resting on her lap.
'Please, please don't die, I can't lose you again... I won't.' The girl thought as she continued riding. The rider became lost in thought as the monotony of the world around her set in.
"May I ask... Do you really remember me?" The question the young woman had been dying to ask. This was possibly the happiest she had been in 100 years. Her smile quickly fell, and her happiness turned to worry as the person she was speaking to collapsed.
It was only then that she realized the severity of the wounds they'd sustained, it was only then that the true fear of losing them- losing him again set in, and it was only then that the rain began to roll in.
The rider viciously shook her head, attempting to stay focused. 'Why had I not I realized it sooner? He's hurt because of me... again. Because of me... a failure.'
Tears began to well up in the young girl's eyes, barely distinguishable from the rain and dirt that was already there. She attempted to wipe the tears out of her eyes, but with her hands already being covered in mud and rainwater, it didn't do much help. She shook her head once more, she needed to stay focused, for his sake...
The horse rounded the bend at the Dueling Peaks, rushing past the stable nearby. The rider looked across the field to her right. Time seemed to slow down as she looked over the decayed husks of the guardians from 100 years ago; the memories came flooding back to her once again as time returned to normal. She squeezed her eyes shut, attempting to shut out her thoughts as well. She opened her eyes as she felt the horse begin to cross the bridge to Kakariko.

The stead barreled through the entrance to Kakariko Village, the young rider promptly reigning it in before leaping from the horse. She quickly turned her attention to the lifeless body, heaving her companion into her arms, seemingly not noticing or not caring about the sheer weight. She trudged forward into the village proper, hastily surveying the area for a place they could both rest, and a place where she could tend to her companion's wounds. After a moment she spotted an Inn, which she immediately darted for, again not seeming to notice the heaviness in her arms.
Once inside she accidentally slammed into doors behind her in her state of panic, causing the Inn Keeper to wake with a start. "He-hello? Who- oh my apologies, I hadn't heard you... come in.." the man said drowsily with his eyes still closed, "err, well I... actually did, but that's... beside the point, may I... offer you a bed?" He finished with a yawn, unaware of the situation of the girl's rugged state and the lifeless body in her arms.
"I-I would uh- like two soft beds, p- please." She panted with panic still in her eyes and worry still in her voice. The man caught the worry in her voice as he wiped his mouth of drool and opened his eyes, finally looking at the person talking to him. His eyes grew wide with shock as he realized just what and who was in front of him.
