Earlier that day...
"I'm coming," I whispered defiantly, matching Snape's strides as we walked down the dimly illuminated corridors of Malfoy Manor.
"You are absolutely not coming," Snape retorted sharply, his voice laced with irritation.
Undeterred, I held my ground. "If you refuse to allow me, I will simply find a way to follow you regardless. Besides, I might prove to be of assistance," I persisted, determined to convince him.
Snape halted abruptly, his patience visibly wearing thin. He turned to face me and met my gaze. "For Merlin's sake," he muttered. "You may accompany me, but we leave the next day. No exceptions. And if your father were to discover our plans..."
"He won't. He's off recruiting anyways. " I interjected confidently, my voice filled with conviction.
"I'm coming too," Draco chimed in as he approached us.
Snape sighed, his frustration evident. "Fine," he conceded, his tone tinged with resignation. "No one else, though. Both of you, be in the library in approximately an hour. Any later, and I shall leave without hesitation."
Draco and I nodded in unison, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. Snape shook his head disapprovingly, then turned away and walked off, leaving us to make our final preparations.
Once Snape disappeared from our sight, Draco and I exchanged glances, a shared understanding passing between us. Draco broke the silence, his voice laced with a hint of amusement, "You know he's going to attempt to leave without us, don't you?"
I nodded knowingly, a mischievous grin forming on my face. "Of course. That's precisely why I've come prepared." I gestured towards my bag hidden behind the dragon statue that is placed in the middle of the hallway, securely packed and ready to go. "I'm heading straight to the library to wait for him there."
Draco's lips curved into a faint smile, his eyes glinting with a mixture of admiration and amusement. "Well, it seems we are more alike than I thought," he remarked. With a flick of his wrist, his bag materialized by his side.
Chuckling softly, we made our way towards the library. We strolled through the echoing corridors, our footsteps creating a rhythmic harmony as we navigated the familiar halls of the Manor.
As we entered the library, we found our way to the couch and settled down. My attention was immediately drawn to a photograph displayed prominently on the front page of the Daily Profit, capturing Dani and Harry just before the third round of the TriWizard Tournament. Picking up the newspaper, my eyes widened.
Potter Twins Expelled From Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft & Wizardry!
In the picture, neither Dani nor Harry smiled. Harry's expression betrayed nervousness as he glanced anxiously towards Dani. She stared directly at the camera, her jaw clenched. However, her gaze shifted towards Harry, and she offered him a reassuring nod before wrapping her arm around his waist and turning her attention back to the camera.
Lowering my gaze from the picture, I proceed to read the article.
In a shocking turn of events, the renowned Potter twins, Danielle and Harry, have been expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Madam Dolores Umbridge, the Senior Undersecretary of Minister Cornelius Fudge, confirmed their involvement in breaching the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery this morning.
