A faint ringing being heard followed by paced and distant footsteps.
A door swung open with a loud "THRASH!"
~~~~"Maxwell!" The voice max had sadly recognized, barged into their room unwittingly.
Max would groan sleepily before he spoke, "Go away..." The dialogue between the two was extremely dry. Silence filling the empty space of the atmosphere.
...
Max sat up from his bed sitting criss-crossed. Yawning and stretching a bit before breaking the unnecessarily awkward silence between the two of them. "What do you want Milo." Max's faded pink mullet a mess from tossing and turning all night.
Milo grabbed Max's arm with a firm grasp that would surely leave a mark. "Come on! You're the last person I need! Well... really some people are always late..." Overly excited for the day and its plans, Milo dragged the 6'4 boy out of his bed and outside. "How did you get in my house?" Max spoke calmly in this seemingly normal situation. Milo was an oddball and would do these kinds of things a lot, but Max dosen't remember giving them the key to his house? "Would you be mad if you were missing a door handle? The back door one. Hypothetically course..." Milo would continue to drag the poor boy down the road. Max facepalmed with his free hand sighing. "We talked about this, Milo."
Max had gotten tired of being dragged. He got up and sprinted by Milo's side to a large tree house which stuck out like a sore thumb... The treehouse was the usual spot Max and Milo's friends would all meet up with almost every day. All of their friends lived in the same neighborhood its just some people prioritized their beauty sleep...Finally, the duo arrived at their destination. Climbing the smooth oak wood ladder up until they reach sturdy planked floor balcony to a very big and basic but very nicely furnished structure, inside sits 5 familiar faces seated around on the floor all with their own small dice pouches. The group didn't have much money for a board table. The substitute they used was made from wood, paint, and polymer clay for small details.
Milo releases his grasp on max and sits nearest to the back wall in the circle of friends. "Max, come sit! I'm doing role-call."
Max slightly tilts his head in response, "Why?"
"Because I feel like it." Milo replies frustratedly.
Max sits next to very femme looking person with short wavy red hair and thin rose-gold glasses. The two start a conversation."Chaos?"
Milo's voice calls out interrupting all conversation, the red-head next to Max raised their hand up high. "Here!" Chaos smiled looking back at Max their conversation momentarily paused.A few other names were called - Stellar, Cam, and Finally Max's name was called.
"Present." He called out raising his hand to show where he was seated.There was one last person on the paper sheet Milo held in his hands.
"Lastly..." He paused looking around the room. "Where's Bon Bon?"
Several silent seconds pass, an audible sigh heard from the 4'11 curly pink pixie haircut GM.
The group looked to the door and all point at the boy standing in the doorway panting wiping sweat off his face.
"Am I late?" His short blue hair tucked behind his ear.
"Damn Bon Bon did you run here?" Can looked at Bon with concern and a hidden snicker.
... Bon Bon did not reply to Cam's stupid comment. He quietly sat down on the side of the circle opposite to Milo.
Stellar, the most mature of the bunch, was next to Bon. The two said their hellos to each other before turning their attention back to the game master."Now that everyone is here, lets start."
Milo went on to explain rules, how and where they will all start.
Minutes pass the game not getting any less interesting, way farther away from where they started the group encountered a dragon.
The Blue-dragon attacks with its lightning breath, everyone rolls to see how much damage is done.Its quiet, with each tap of the dice hitting the wood floor was another second of anticipation. The fate of their lives depend on the small resin dice.
Max had a feeling something bad would happen.
This Child's Game of Mayhem had just begun.
