The morning came before I could blink. I didn't wake up by my alarm as usual but today it was the sunlight that came in through the blinders I forgot to close. It made me a bit mad at first but then I felt like I was in a movie so then i guess it was okay. It gave me a little more motivation to continue the day in a good mood.
I got up and checked the time, it was around eight so only thirty minutes until I was supposed to wake up, normally.
I decided to take a shower to wake myself up a bit more and then grab an early breakfast so that I could do some work while I drank my tea. I don't really like coffee.
When i had gotten ready with some makeup, nothing drastic because it was hot out and dripping makeup is not attractive at all. This was the day off the race so I knew that I was going to go back later for a quick outfit change before heading to the paddock to watch the race from the garage.
I grabbed my bag that consisted of my laptop, headset and a few random makeup products and some more random stuff that had been laying there for forever.
I headed down to the breakfast hall and sat down at one of the tables all the way in the corner next to a window. The view was very pretty and I could see cars driving by as I put my bag on one of the chairs.
Looking around there were only a few people here so I took my shot and started serving myself with whatever I could find. Once I had grabbed my bread with ham and cheese, a croissant with some jam and a cappuccino.
I had hardly sat down and gotten up my computer when the chair in front of me was pulled out.
"Fine if i sit here?" George questioned me. I nodded in a response because of course it was. He placed a plate of food in front of the chair and sat down."So... is this early bird thing new or?" he laughed. He had been in formula 1 long enough for him to get used to my father having to drag me out of bed around eleven every morning.
"Well what can i say, at some point we all grow up" i told him "and you being up early is not an usual either is it?" he laughed "well because of the time differences i have to so that i can speak too Carmen while i'm here" that's too cute. "You two are so sweet. Why isn't she here?" I asked him.
Carmen is incredibly nice and I have always really enjoyed her company so her not being here is a big loss.
"Well she will be tagging along later in the season but right now she needs to focus on her career as well". I take a bite of my bread and nod "totally get that. Can't wait to hear all about how it's going when she gets here then".
We continued chatting about mostly Carmen and how he was planning her birthday party. Then I helped him look at a venue and then at a present he wanted to get her. Now I told him that maybe keeping it a bit lowkey would be for the best because as much as I love George he is kind of blind to Carmen in social situations. She always sits around waiting for them to leave while he is the one enjoying the social gathering. So I tried to subtly talk him into maybe a more calm and intimate party.
"I'm going to head up now, but I will see you in the paddock later right?" "Of course, where else would I be?" I joked as he walked away from the table.
I stayed seated at the table for an hour longer. I had my laptop in front of me and my headphones on listening to some music to keep concentrated at the work i was doing.
Right now I am pursuing an online business class so that I would be prepared to follow in my fathers footsteps if it came to that. I had all my life kind of been hinted that one day the business my father had built would be mine. But now in my older years my mother has told me that I don't necessarily need to do that if it's not the way I want to go.
I have a younger brother. Caleb. He looks alot like me and he does also enjoy learning about business so he is a good person to take over if I don't want to.
I don't know yet either way, and it will be a long while until i need to make that decision so now all i do is learn about business and some things about different side hustles i could possibly pursue while following my dad this season.
Once I had finished some of the work that I needed done by the end of this week I grabbed my stuff and got up to leave. That's when the whole squad entered. Charles, Pierre, Yuki and Sebastian all came in and started looking around for a table.
I lifted my bag over my shoulder and then pursued walking out of the area. When i passed the guys i tried to walk past but i felt Sebastian's hand on my wrist "morning" he told me and gave me a look that told me he knew that i tried walking past him and that wouldn't happen.
"Morning guys" I said and turned towards them with a smile. "Well look here if it isn't an early bird, '' Pierre joked. 'Yeah well some days you gotta at least feel like you got it all together '' they laughed at my comment before Sebastian asked me if i had finished eating or if i were to eat with them.
I told him that I was just finished and was about to head up to my room before going out for some shopping. He nodded and let go of me. Before I fully walked away I gave Charles a quick smile and he returned with a bigger one making his dimples show clearly.
When i walked over to the elevator i couldn't help but smile a little to myself, and once i caught myself doing so i got even more worried about it.
