Then Lucy opened her eyes. It was all a dream. IT WAS ALL A DREAM"!!!! Nothing had been real. Lockwood kissing her, George seeing. She realized she'd never admitted to herself how she felt about Lockwood she pushed it down, deep down. From the moment she saw him, she knew she would never want to be just friends but she knew their "relationship" had to be strictly professional no matter how she felt. she needed this job and if things ended badly...
Well, nothing would ever happen between them, how could she Lucy Carlyle have a chance with Lockwood, that magazine he always read voted him one of the most eligible bachelors in London. so what chance did she have with the likes of him anyways? And just like that skull bumped in leaving Lucy daydreaming to just wander away. "You alright there Lucy looking a bit flushed, thinking about a certain someone ?" the skull pestered "Let me guess is he good with a rapier ?" "quite tall and slim wears a long coat ?" " dark eyes, hair which he seems to spend a lot of time doing in the bathroom !!"
Lucy by this time was as red as a tomato. "non of your business what I was thinking about is its skull !" Lucy fired at the green jar." only joking but maybe you should look in the mirror, your so obvious "The skull began to laugh, Lucy couldn't take it anymore. She grabbed her clothes and a towel and headed for the bathroom. What she needed was a nice warm bath to clear her head ( or to get Lockwood out of it anyway ).
She lay there in the cream-colored tub and watched the steam rise. This is what she needed she hadn't had a good chance to relax in weeks they were either on a case, preparing for one, eating, or sleeping. and if she was sleeping it would be one of two things firstly like the one she had had earlier, with Lockwood filled with longing hope for what she wanted to be or nightmares filled with ghosts and the horrors of her training.
And just like that her peace was interrupted once more, this time by a short stout boy with glasses known by the name George. "what are you doing in there Lucy, you've been in there for ages ?" "why is it any of your business what I'm doing in here ?!" " Well some of us need to use the bathroom once in a while if you didn't know !" before Lucy could say anything George was shouting again but not to her " Lockwood come and tell Lucy to get out of the bath !"
Lucy let out a sigh as she began to hear footsteps coming up the stairs and across the landing, then came a polite knock "Lucy are you alright in there ?" came a familiar voice, one that she knew to be Lockwood's. She loved hearing his voice no matter what he was saying it always sounded beautiful in her ears. "Lucy answer me if you don't I'll break this door down !" "there no need for that you idiot " she blurted " I'm getting out now anyways ."
stepped out of the bath careful not to slip as she did so. She grabbed her towel and hastily began to wrap it around herself. She opened the door and to her surprise there he was. leaned against the door frame waiting for her. He straightened up when he saw her and not knowing what to say, she asked " wheres George gone thought he needed the bathroom!" Lockwood gave a quick reply sensing the anger growing within her " I think he went downstairs " and before Lucy could say anything he asked " Are you alright you seem tired?" "yeah I'm fine just think the workload might be getting to me "
"well if you need anything you know I'm always here if you need me " " I know Lockwood " she began to say as she reached out to hold him .she needed this and Lockwood could sense that pulling her closer in. She felt just right in his arms, safe like nothing could hurt her when he was around. She knew this wasn't true nothing could stop the horrors they faced together but they faced them together and even though she didn't want to admit it to him she needed him. She may have feelings for him which she didn't fully understand herself yet but she knew she wouldn't let them get in the way because she needed him. He's her rock.
Her mind was flooded with feelings and wondering if he could ever feel the same about her. She wondered if he did. No , he would never like her. What was she thinking? She was younger than him what would he ever like about her? She was a simple-looking girl from a little rural town who just so happened to have some talent. But still, she wondered and dreamed of what it would be like if he were to tell her he felt the same way.
Lucy came a familiar voice, she had drifted away from the real world and into one of dreams in her head. Lockwood seemed worried, then she noticed the tear that had begun to fall. he hadn't meant to cry but she needed to tell someone she just had to and she knew Lockwood was the person to tell.
