  "WHAT?!"

"What's the matter?" Sawyer asks. His reddish eyebrows furrow and his green eyes widen.

"I. Am. Half. DRAGON?!" I scream, "and YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!"

Calm it. You're fine.

How am I fine?!

You're overdoing it. You simply found out about something, so cool it.

But-

Shush.

We walk in silence for a few minutes more, the foliage brushing past us. As I gaze around us, my eyes fall on Sawyer. When I glance at him, I see my hand moving towards his tail. I quickly pull my hand away. What am I thinking? I wonder. Ashlic answers me.

OOOOOOOHHH. You're in LOOOVE. Ask him when he's going to take you out.

No way on both counts. One, I do NOT love him, we're simply acquaintances, and two, that would be way too embarrassing for him. And definitely me. I say. Besides, he probably won't anyway.

SURRRREEEEE. Anyway, where do you think we are going? And second, do you want to go on a flight?

What? Oh yeah! I look at my wings, the color of flames with flecks of gold like tiny suns. I stretch them out and lift them. I bend at the waist and jump while pushing at the air with my wings. I flap faster and faster, lifting higher and higher, with Ashlic right above me.

"Wait! Where are you going?!" Sawyer yells up to me.

I yell back, "I'm following you there! I can still see you perfectly!"

He replies, "So you can see how good-looking I am?" And smiles wittingly.

I laugh. "That's hilarious, seeing as how you're so muddy I can't tell," thinking how he is.

You're not in love with him, hmm?

Oh shush.

We soar in the sky, doing flips faster and faster. Sawyer morphs into his duo self and runs fast along the path below, barely keeping speed. I could tell him we are going slow on purpose, but I am not so rude as to do that. I know that we are almost there, seeing as there is a field with houses in front.

Sawyer yells up, "Do you think you could drop the pace a bit? I'm getting a bit winded!"

We should just walk now, shouldn't we?

Probably.

"We're coming down now!" I yell to him, twisting into a dive to scare him again and spot something in the distance. I cannot tell what it is yet, but I think it is a large bird, or maybe even a phoenix or griffin! I am having fun imagining what animals could be real now as familiars. I decide to race over to whatever it is in the distance, calling to Sawyer, "Never mind!"

Susan, wait!

I ignore Ashlic and race across the forest. As I get closer, I see that whoever or whatever it is has red wings that have flecks of rainbow colors shining through, feathers lining the bottom, but they look like the night sky when there is no light pollution. Whoever it is notices me and starts flying towards me. We meet in the middle. She is another dragon. She has a gold feather at the end of her tail, and three spikes above it. She is about half my dragon height, but her wings are a little bigger than mine as a dragon (still extremely big), which explains how I could see her wings before her, and her limbs are very long and slim. Her claws are like mirrors, similar to the color of the lines over her eyes. Her scales are gorgeous. They are red with flecks of any color imaginable on them. When we are face to face, she says, "Hi, Susan! Recognize me?" The other dragon, after saying this, promptly turns half and half. She has her wings and horns still, but this time her wings do not have feathers. She is wearing a red T-shirt with jeans, white socks, and green tennis shoes. She is wearing a silver necklace with a semi-transparent orb on it and a silver ring that makes it look like an emerald-eyed dragon is hugging her finger.
