After the heart-wrenching conversation, Garam gently asked the child to bring the makeshift table for them to set dinner.

As she approached the table, she couldn't help but notice its pitiful state. With a broken leg and an improvised support from a spiritual book, it reflected the humble and meager conditions they lived in. The realization struck her that she had no choice but to accept this reality and make the most of it.

However, her perspective shifted when she saw Garam's welcoming face and heard his soft voice calling her cautiously, ensuring not to scare her.

He invited her to share the simple dinner he had prepared with love. In that moment, she realized that this was a second chance, an opportunity to start anew and avoid making the same mistakes again.

Once the dinner was set, a simple spiced porridge, Garam thanked the Lord for the food, as he always did. But this time, he also expressed gratitude for the child's salvation, acknowledging the divine intervention that had brought them together.

At the end of his prayer, he asked for forgiveness for his past actions and the blame he had placed on the god. The irony of his plea was not lost on him, as he recognized his own journey of redemption.

Garam: "Thank you, Lord, for providing us this humble meal. I also thank you for saving this child, despite my previous transgressions. I ask for your forgiveness and guidance as we embark on this journey together."

As they began their feast, the child and Garam savored each morsel, despite the simplicity of the meal.

The hunger and the pain they had endured without having anything to eat for a long time made even the water taste divine. That night, for the first time in many years, Garam found the food to be truly satisfying.

While they continued munching, Garam noticed that he had never called the child by her name. Seeking to break the ice between them, he asked her if she could tell him her name.

Garam: "Child, could you tell me your name?"

However, the child seemed so engrossed in eating that she did not pay attention to his question. Garam chuckled to himself, realizing that there would always be tomorrow to learn her name.

Garam: "Well, there's always tomorrow. We'll get to know each other better as time goes on."

Once they had finished eating, both Garam and the child felt satiated and content. They lay down on the floor, side by side, looking up at the ceiling.

The child expressed her gratitude, and Garam reassured her that it was all right.

Child: "Thank you, Garam."

Garam: "It's alright, my dear. Rest now."

However, when he turned to check on her, he noticed she had already fallen asleep, her words blending into sleep talk.

He tenderly held her in his arms, a soft smile gracing his lips, knowing that the life he now cradled held the potential for a bright future.

Garam laid the child gently on the mat, ensuring her comfort before settling down next to her. He held her hand and whispered softly,

"No matter what lies ahead, my hands will be there for you to hold until the end."

With those words, he drifted off to sleep, unaware of the toll his journey had taken on his body. The continuous walk he had undertaken, carrying the lifeless body of the adoptive daughter.

The weight of guilt he bore was far heavier than the physical burden he carried. His mind and body, weary from the excessive chanting and exorcism, finally gave in to sleep without his conscious knowledge.

As they slept, hours passed, and a profound stillness enveloped the room. The chirping of crickets ceased, the rodents found their slumber, and an icy chill permeated the air.

It was the time when the moon vanished from sight, leaving the night even darker. In this eerie stillness, the evil spirit trapped within the child seized the opportunity to whisper its sinister intent.

"It will be my reign starting now," the evil spirit hissed with an evil smile, its words heard only by the surrounding silence and the child who slept beside it, unaware of the darkness that lurked within her.
