NICOMAKI HONOKA INTERVENTION

Nico sat alone in the Idol Research Club room, looking up things that A-RISE did that caught so much attention.
" why do they get all the attention? hmph!" She groaned
" nico, practice is beginning soon" Maki said walking into the room.
" nico Nico nii! Bringing smiles your way from the super idol, Nico Nico NII!" Nico said cheerily. She wanted to practice with the rest of Muse, but there was other things on her mind. Why was it Maki of all people who had to come remind her.
" hey are you ok?" Maki questioned as Nico stared at the computer screen.
" why are you asking?"
" uh.. It's not like I was worried about you or anything!" Maki said blushing as she turned and crossed her arms.
" ok whatever..."
" listen... Uh we really do need to get to practice now..." Maki stuttered.
It's now or never   Nico thought to herself. " uhh maki? Remember that night by the fire up at your mountain house?" She asked shyly.
Maki looked over, and nodded with a small bit of confusion on her face.
" Well Umm.... How do I put this?"
Maki continued to wait patiently to hear what Nico had to say. She figured if Nico was this concerned about it, it must be serious.
" well I kinda have a confession for you...?" Nico began.
" and that would be?"
" well... I really like..."
" I FINALLY FOUND YOU GUYS!" Honoka shouted bursting through the door interrupting Nico's sentence.
" sorry! Didn't realize you were talking. Continue? What do you like?" Honoka asked rocking back and forth on her heels.
" uhh... I like being school idols! NICO NICO NII~~!" Nico laughed nervously as Honoka laughed in response.
" that's nice. But what did you want to tell me?" Maki asked her
she saw right through me!  Nico panicked.
"Time for practice guys! We'll talk later!" Honoka grabbed their arms and raced up the stairs to the roof.

After practice, Nico went back to the idol research room to take her books and leave.
" I never got to tell maki how I felt about her. Hmph!" Nico pouted.
Nico whipped around when she heard the door close.
" why are you here!?" Nico exclaimed hoping Maki didn't over hear
" I-it's not like I was following you or anything. It would be so stupid If I did!" Maki blushed and turned away again.
" you saw through me before... So thank you." Nico said tearing up.
" why are you crying? Not like I care but.."
" maki! I'm totally not crying but Listen, I really like you ok!? I want to be more than friends but I'm not as musically talented and I just.... Never mind. nico Nico nii." Nico ran out of the room and onto the roof alone. It was cloudy, and drizzly, but Nico sat alone against the fence, as the rain poured down harder and harder until Nicos tears were indistinguishable from the raindrops sliding down her face.

" I'm so stupid" Nico cried to herself. " why did I say that to her?"
Suddenly Nico felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up and saw maki standing there, smiling. In silence, she held out of hand and helped Nico stand.
" I'm sorry... It's just that..."
Nico was silenced by Maki's finger gently placed on her lips causing Nico to blush madly.
" I need you in my life... You probably won't like me in that way, and That stupid confession may have even ended our friendship but..."
"I nico Nico need you in my life too. I love you too." Maki said cutting nico off once again.
Then slowly, ever so slowly, everything seemed to move in slow motion. Raindrops slowed, and the wind died down... And Nico and maki leaned into one another, and gently rested their lips on one another's.
The world went silent and time seemed to have frozen in place. Then, as if by magic, the rain stopped, the sun came out, and a rainbow appeared. Maki pulled away and blushed at nico, as nico did the same in return.
Both were dripping wet now, but neither noticed, as they were both so happy.
" now I've found the one I love, and they will be the ones there for me. When I'm sad or depressed, they'll hold me in their arms and tell me It'll be ok. " maki sang from the new song she had written.
" I'll be there. As long as you're there for me in return."
Maki nodded. They locked arms and walked back inside, arm in arm, blushing, and looking happier than ever.
