You laid on your back, staring up at the starry skies of Raccoon City, it felt like heaven just laying there and doing absolutely nothing while feeling the cool breeze gently touch your skin. Feeling a twinge of pain in your abdominal area brought you out of your momentary euphoric state. You inhaled deeply and exhaled "Okay...time to get up..." you used your forearms to sit up only halfway due to the pain and saw your bloodstained shirt and the rip where you were stabbed. "Fuck...that's right, I got stabbed..." you grumbled to yourself. You could hear footsteps approaching you and unfortunately it wasn't Jill or Carlos, it was Nicholai - the man that stabbed you.
"Still not dead I see." Even under that thick Russian accent you could hear that condescending chuckle as he smirked at you, gun in hand. You stared Nicholai in his eyes, not backing down despite the compromising position you were in "Oh? Still have some fight left in you despite the fact that I have the upper hand?" he questioned. You rolled your eyes at him and with depleting strength decided to entertain a conversation with him until Jill and Carlos showed up "I told - no, I promised Jill I would get that vaccine back from you. It would be rather rude of me to go back on a promise, right?" You responded with a smirk. Nicholai chuckled, amused by your response but not impressed by your veracity in the slightest. "I'll admit: I'm quite impressed you've managed to stay alive up until now," he begins, pointing the gun at you "but it's time to wrap this up now."
September 29th, 1998 Raccoon City Subway
"Who's the lucky guy?" You looked up to the opposite side of the train and saw Jill looking at you with a slight smile on her face. She was referring to the engagement ring on your finger and you suddenly felt embarrassed, but not in a bad way. Embarrassed in the sense of, if you begin to talk about him then you'll probably end up rambling. You nervously rubbed the back of your neck and smiled "Carlos. He's the lucky guy." Jill looked slightly surprised but didn't allow her facial expressions to speak for herself "Carlos? He is a lucky guy. To have a strong person like you by his side - must be nice." it got silent between you two but you decided to keep the conversation going "Yeah...but starting out was hard though." you leaned back and crossed your arms, thinking about the past.
"Carlos is an attractive guy, so there was always someone trying to make a move on him and there were times where I questioned if I was worthy enough, until he popped the question." After Carlos proposed, it kind of confirmed what everyone looking on the outside knows: Carlos loves you and only you, and his heart will never skip for another person. Jill went to say something but before she could there was an explosion at the front of the train and the lights went on. Jill, Mikhail, Nicholai, and yourself all looked to see what the commotion was, and it was Nemesis.
"How is this fucker not dead yet?!" Jill's eyes filled with anger and determination tried to charge at Nemesis, but you stopped "Jill! We have to get out of here!" you yelled. Mikhail ordered you two to get to the further end of the train but Nicholai made sure you two didn't get very far because in his words "It's not chasing after me." made it clear which side Nicholai was on; and it was yours. "Nicholai! Open this door you son of a bitch!" you tried opening the door, but it was locked and when you two turned Mikhail was detonating a bomb that completely derailed the entire train.
October 1st, 1998 Raccoon City NEST 2 20 minutes before the destruction of Raccoon City
Carlos had finally caught up to Jill but could see that she had her own problems to deal with, and that problem was in fact - Nemesis. "Jill! Where's (Y/N)?!" Jill took her eyes off the beast for a moment and looked up to Carlos "They went after Nicholai because he has the vaccine! Go after him too!" Carlos almost took off running but he felt compelled to stay behind for a moment more "What about you?!" he called out again "We're running out of time! I've got this." Jill replies, looking away and facing Nemesis for what will be the last time. "I know you do." Carlos mumbles to himself and runs in the direction of the stairs that lead to the rooftop. "(Y/N)...please be okay."
