As Hoshi, Haru, and Juancho settled into their cozy treehouse, the sound of raindrops tapping against the wooden roof created a soothing ambiance. The events of the day had left them exhilarated yet content, their bodies tired but their spirits alight with newfound camaraderie.
Little did they know that dark forces were stirring in the depths of the realm. Unbeknownst to them, the Lumina Sanctum, a sacred realm of ancient power, had been breached. The three Soviet soldiers, Rossiya, Qazaqia, and Kartvelia, had emerged from the portal atop the tallest mountain in the domain of Hu.
With their sinister presence, the air grew heavy, carrying the weight of impending danger. The rain, once serene and calming, now seemed to mirror the turbulent energy that had been unleashed.
As the three soldiers stepped into the realm of Hu, the rain intensified, thunder rolling ominously in the distance. Their arrival sent ripples through the fabric of reality, awakening the ancient magic that lay dormant in the isles.
"Boys. We've made it." Rossiya said, with his heavy accent, inspired by the breeze of cold air that hit them.
But just as he felt a quick shiver of happiness, his two comrades, Qazaqia and Kartvelia felt to his feet, what kept them alive was Melantha's taint, but she was no more and so wasn't her taint.
Rossiya's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked down at the lifeless forms of Qazaqia and Kartvelia. The absence of Melantha's taint, the dark essence that had sustained them for so long, had left them vulnerable and ultimately led to their demise.
"No... How is this possible?" Rossiya muttered, his voice filled with a mix of confusion and despair. The weight of their loss settled heavily upon him, his shoulders slumping in defeat.
As the rain and snow continued to pour, washing away the remnants of their fallen comrades, Rossiya's mind raced. He knew that without the taint, his own existence hung in the balance. Desperation fueled his determination, pushing him to seek an alternative path.
With a heavy heart, Rossiya turned towards the direction of Hoshi's domain, the forest where the brothers in soul resided. He knew that the young hybrids possessed a unique connection to the ancient magic that permeated the isles. If there was any hope for his survival, it lay in their powers.
Back in the treehouse, Hoshi, Haru, and Juancho stirred from their slumber, sensing a disturbance in the energy of the forest. Their eyes met, a silent understanding passing between them.
"What was that?" Juancho asked, his voice laced with concern.
Hoshi's expression darkened as he sensed the remnants of the taint dissipating in the rain-soaked air. "Trouble. Dark forces have entered our realm. We must prepare ourselves."
With a renewed sense of purpose, Hoshi, Haru, and Juancho made their way through the forest, their steps quickening as they approached the source of the disturbance. Unbeknownst to them, their paths were about to intersect with Rossiya's desperate quest for survival, setting the stage for a confrontation that would test their unity and challenge the very fabric of their existence.
As Rossiya neared the edge of the forest, he caught sight of Hoshi, Haru, and Juancho emerging from the trees. Their presence alone exuded an aura of power and resilience, further igniting his determination to seek their aid.
"Wait!" Rossiya called out, his voice carrying a mixture of urgency and desperation. "Please, I mean no harm. I seek your help."
Hoshi, Haru, and Juancho halted their advance, their cautious gazes fixed upon Rossiya. The rain continued to fall, serving as a backdrop to the tense encounter.
"Why should we trust you, Rossiya?" Hoshi's voice held a note of skepticism, his golden eyes narrowing.
"Melantha is no more. My comrades went with her, they died! I can't live without them!" Rossiya seemed to cry, but that wasn't enough to convince Hoshi.
"You have tried to fight me, showed no respect to my forest whatsoever, fought against my friends. You give me all the reasons not to trust you." Hoshi remained serious.
The Ropen came to be behind the rain.
"Don't you dare bring that demon out!" Rossiya shouted.
As the Ropen emerged from the rain, its massive wings spreading wide, the air crackled with tension. Rossiya's voice echoed with a mixture of fear and anger, his gaze fixed upon the legendary creature before him.
Rossiya's hand trembled, his mind filled with conflicting emotions. The sight of the Ropen stirred memories of past battles and the destruction he had witnessed.
With a swift movement, Rossiya unsheathed a hidden blade from his sleeve, readying himself for battle. The raindrops clung to the edge of the blade, amplifying the danger that loomed in the air.
The rain started falling harder and there wasn't a single source of light outside from the Ropen's eyes and glowing patterns. All the other creatures there, including Haru and Juancho ran away to safety, closer to the heart of the forest. The guardian was angry.
The Ropen stood taller than the Soviet soldier. It started walking on all fours towards Rossiya, it let a low pitched gurgling sound in order to intimidate the soldier. It worked, Rossiya seemed small when compared to the Ropen, and stood still, hoping the deity wouldn't see him in the dark.
That large beak with pointy teeth of the Ropen reached closer to Rossiya's head.
As the Ropen's beak inched closer to Rossiya's head, the soldier's heart pounded in his chest. Fear gripped him, paralyzing his body as he stood frozen in the presence of the ancient deity.
The rain fell relentlessly, obscuring the world around them and creating an eerie atmosphere. The Ropen's eyes glowed with an otherworldly light, casting an ethereal glow upon its surroundings.
Hoshi, in his Ropen form, bit Rossiya's head and shook the soldier violently in the air with his powerful neck muscles. The soldier was screaming in pain, those pointy teeth were like needles going through his head.
In that moment, all that came to the soldier's mind was the Lord's Prayer in Russian. Between screams, he let out a few muttered Russian words.
It wasn't enough, there wasn't need for that, Rossiya knew exactly what he had done, and in that moment, no divine intervention would happen.
The Ropen finished Rossiya right there. It carried the soldier's body with its beak and flew with it to the human continents, where that monster belonged, giving its enemy a respectful burial.
In his human form, Hoshi let out a few words. "Go in peace and finish your mission there, in the afterlife, Rossiya. This world is not yours anymore." Before turning into the Ropen again and flying away to the isles, where everything got calm with his peaceful arrival.
