An Exchange in Hands

"No, not my room, Servant!" Iyana pulled against Dominick's hand, bring him to a stop. "My parents will be in the Royal Safety House."

Reluctantly, Dominick agreed. Turning, he took her to down another hallway. The hallway leading to the safety house.

"Iyana! I'm so glad to see you are safe!" The King exclaimed upon seeing his daughter entered the room.

Dominick released her hand as the Queen came running up to the princess and enclosing her in her arms.

"Too...tight..." Iyana body tensed up with the steady crushing force of her over worried mother. "Mother?" She wiggled a little.

The Queen pulled back, catching the hint.

Hugging her mother once more, Iyana took her mother's slender hands into her own. "I'm fine, mother. You don't have to worry." The Queen had started to tear up.

"Your majesty. Have you identity who the intruders are?" Dominick asked, his voice was a little unsteady.

Perhaps...

The explosion sounded like the cannons in which was used at that kingdom. The cannons, he knew, were harmless. However, they were used to provide a good distraction for sneaking into enemy's territory.

Iyana's eyes darted over to the two men. The unsteadiness in Dominic's voice went unnoticed by all, except Iyana. Knowing him for so long now, she could tell that something was wrong. He seems different. His eyes, yes, his eyes tells me that this threat is giving him some sort of hope...but why?

"No, unfortunately my men hasn't been able to identify them. I have send Sir Eric out now. " The King looked toward a window. His strong demeanor showed no hint of his anxiety.

"I see. He will need help out there. " This could be my one chance to see for myself. "I'm skilled with a sword, so I will go out and make sure no one gets in here." Dominick walked over to a nearby table, and retrieved a sword. "In your name, Your Highness, I shall protect my princess." He stated as he faced the King. He bows midway, before turning around and heading toward the door.

Iyana did everything in her power to keep herself from call out to Dominick. It's so silly, she thought. To even think she knew her servant well enough to know what he felt or what she thought she felt.

"Good, but I'm coming with you" The King answered. At least he's still loyal to us. The king watches as Dominick stop to face him, and than he saw the acknowledged nod. The king turned to his daughter and wife. "I must join my forces, but I want you two to stay put while I deal with this. I should be safe with Dominick at my side" He glaze into the queen's eyes before walking away.

The two men exist the house.

"Anything the matter, Iyana?" Her mother had asked.

Shaking her head, Iyana muttered that it was nothing.

The pair sat on a group of red pillows as they waited for the King's return.

Once outside, clashes of sword and light gray smoke filled the air. Cries of men, women, and children could be heard.

"This way" The king ordered.

Dominick followed despite the fact that he would have rather went in another, less noisy direction.

It wasn't long before the two ran into a group of five knights. All men prepared to fight. Dominick places himself between the King William and the intruder.

"Prince Dominick?" One of the soldiers lowered his sword as he stares at the servant.

A astonished yet puzzled look crosses Dominick face. He realized this voice, but why? It hits him like a stack of potatoes-he did know this man. "Casper? Is that you?" Dominick's heart pounded in his chest as the warrior removed his helmet. The two men grinned at one another.

The king frowns and looks between the two. Realization sinks in, and the king starts to back away hoping to not get noticed.

"You've find me! "Dominick exclaimed, but was cut off when he realizes that the king was trying to escape. "Stop him now!" Dominick orders quickly.

In a matter of minutes, the king was surrounded. "Take him to his throne, and have him call off his men. Hold him until I return. His queen and princess shall be brought to him, but only if he cooperate."

One of the soldiers came up to Dominick and begins to wrap a royal cape around him.

Dominick allowed him to. "Casper you take care of the king. Make sure he does what he needs to. I'll be back, but a few of you come with me" Dominick smiles, and he exchanges the long sword he carried with an shorter one from a nearby warrior. I can go home now. This nightmare is over. He thanked his knight and headed back toward the royal safe house where the remaining royals waited.

Iyana and her mother remained quiet under the safety of the house. Their minds worried for the men they known the longest. Sounds of cannons was heard and caused the little house to shake. Battle cries made the pair flinched in an invisible pain. The smell of smoke drifted under the cracks of the door, filling their lungs with populated air. The crack of the door, brought smiles to both women' face.

Good, their back safely.... As Dominick entered the room along with a few armed strangers, their smiles disappears from their faces. But something was wrong. Where was father? With the no show of Estella's King, Iyana felt fear. The look in her once humble servant was no more. Instead, a new look took over his eyes... a power thirsty, slightly-insane kind of look. "Dominick..." Her voice low as if she didn't know the extent of volume her voice could reach.

He makes his way toward the two. His eyes seeking the young princess and queen. Once he held both gazes, he smiles slightly. "It seems the tides have turn. Both of you, stand up and follow me. Your Kingdom has been taken over by my men. I, Prince Dominick of the Luna Crescent Kingdom, has taken it over."

Prince Dominick's men begins to move around the two.

The Queen gasped at this new turn of fate, but she stood up slowly. Tears visibly dropped down her eyes out of fear of the unknown.

Iyana, however, remained seat on the pillows, disbelief clouded her face. "Dominic..." She whispered again. "Why..." She stared into his eyes, unable to move.
