Arrival!!!
The prince pulled off. Twenty men from Iyana's army walk behind him followed by the remaining men from his army. Princess Iyana rode a horse guarded by one of Dominick's men, just a few feet behind him.
I hope she remains asleep until we come to our first stop. If I'm lucky, she won't try anything.
At the end of the two day trip, the Luna Crescent kingdom came into view. Dominick stopped his horse to reflect on his long journey back to this very place, and now he was feeling well relieved.
The trip had ended without no incident. Princess Iyana had remained silent throughout the whole trip. She didn't eat nor had she barely taken a drink, all except for a sip here or there. None of the twenty men had made an attempt to flee, but they had kept their eyes on their princess the whole time. The princess, Dominick noted, was rather quiet. She didn't even complain, but Dominick wrote her depressive behavior off as part of her adjustment to the situation.
Dominick gave the signal to move forward. The Luna Crescent Kingdom was quite large and open. Houses, stores, large buildings, and short ones took up most of the kingdom. At the back of the kingdom was a larger structure: the royal castle. The whole kingdom sat on land that was made up of broken earth with shallow clear water running through the cracks.
Dominick leads his men in the direction of the castle. As they begin to pass building after building, people rush back, running toward the castle. Low sounds of laughter and snatches of phrases float by as the prince led his group forward. Dominick smiles warmly. So my welcoming party must be gathering at the castle doors.
Glad that the trip is coming to an end, Iyana sighed lowly. She had woken up, just a few hours ago. This long unbearable trip is almost over.
She was, however, stunned by the sheer artistic structure of the kingdom. Having hardly been allowed to leave her kingdom, the Luna Crescent Kingdom was new and different to her sheltered eyes.
Dominick pushed his horse into a trot. It isn't long before his group reaches the large Crescent's castle.
The castle was made up of several structures. Walls were made of white mable. The castle was mainly white, but various jewels lined the castle towers. In the front, was a large fountain depicting a moon goddess. Around the fountain lies a large group of people wearing loosen designed clothes. They burst into cheers as they saw their prince.
Dominick grinned and jumped down from his horse. He went to greet his people. They crowd around him, each wanting to welcome him back.
"Give my son room. Welcome back, my son," a masculine voice spoke above the excited chattering of the rest.
The king and queen stood at the top of the stairs. Dominick went over to them. He hugged each of them, and then instructed the men to take the other twenty men to the back rooms to get them settled. He then instructed them to take the princess and get her ready to be presented before the king and queen.
She couldn't help but watch sadly at the procession of people gathered to greet their prince. It only made her miss her kingdom even more. A sad sigh escaped her lips and she felt tears well up at the edges of her eyes, but she quickly brushed them away. She will not show her sadness, never again.
The guards stop the horse and made an attempt to help her down, but she brushed them off. She doesn't say a word, simply walk slowly behind the guards, dodging them whenever they try to touch her.
Princess Iyana is taken into the castle, into a large room. She is shown different clothes and told to pick something to put on.
A guard lead her into an inner dressing room, where she is greeted by a particularly happy tailor. She is fitted into a light purple dress that makes her eyes brighter and her skin glow. She has some light makeup applied and her hair is washed and put into an up-do. Despite the tailor's questions and positive remarks, she said nothing.
Prince Dominick excused himself from his parents and waited in the waiting room with folded arms for the princess to get ready.
Dominick stared at an old picture of his grandfather that rest on the wall as he wait for Iyana dressing to finish. Making her wear the clothes and colors of his people will allow her to almost pass for one of his own, he hoped.
When she is done, she is directed to the exit though which she walk, confidently, out of the room.
Hearing the door open just behind him, Dominick turned to face what he hoped is a sane princess.
She was expecting to find a few guards, but instead found Dominick. She walked, letting her feet drag, over to him. Hatred burned subtly in her eyes, and she said nothing still as she lowered her gaze to the ground.
As Iyana stepped into the room, Dominick took in her appearance as a whole. A smile threatened to cover his face, but he kept a straight face as she approached him.
She's doing a nice job showing that she is dissatisfied. His eyes travelled over her as she stopped. The first thing he noticed is the fact that she kept her head down. Deciding to give her a moment, he took the opportunity to inspect her up close.
The gown came just passes her ankles, enough to cover the top of her feet. Here in the Luna Crescent kingdom, everyone went without shoes unless they were going into battle. Her hair is styled in a royal fashion making her look stunning. He always though wearing her hair in an up style would have a beautiful effect. A string of moonstone gems ties her hair up nicely. He also noticed that she is wearing a necklace symbolizing his kingdom crest. Overall, he was satisfied with her appearance.
"You look good in the dress." He opted for a compliment to perhaps get the princess to look at him, but she doesn't. "Tonight is a celebration. You will be at my side, and you will meet my parents. You will speak when you are spoken to and answer their questions to the best of your ability. I expect you to act like a princess." He paused growing slightly annoyed. She had made no attempt to meet his eyes, since she set foot in his presence.
"You will also make eye contact with me."
