{1st POV}

I was running, sweating, and panting. My legs are short and I don't know if I can take this much running for any longer. I was being chased by this weird creature looking thing. It talked as if it was human but it definitely didn't look or act human. It said it wanted to eat me.

I tripped and fell, my legs seeming to give out. I backed away from the creature, "Stop!" I yelled, tears coming out of my eyes. Is this for real how I'm going to die? I don't want to die. "Well you look quite tasty." The creature said and licked his lips. I screamed and wailed.

Suddenly as he was about to bite me, a sword decapitated it's head off. What is happening?

A pretty lady was standing with a sword, doing some sort of movement before resting her sword by her side. She had black hair with purple tips, and a pretty white multi-colored haori. She had a bright looking smile on her face, but it looked empty.

"Oh my, are you alright dear?" She asked me. "No...What is that thing?! You killed it!" I exclaimed to her, tears still welling up in my eyes. "Don't worry. That thing is called a demon." She explained with a comforting smile. "I am what you call a demon slayer, we protect people by killing these things." She said.

What? "That thing killed my family! What if another one tries to kill me, please don't leave me alone!" I said, more tears coming out. "Don't worry, I won't let one lay a finger on you. I can take you to my butterfly mansion to treat your injuries. Would you like that?" She asked. Her voice was trusting and comforting, so I nodded yes.

"Thank you for saving me ma'am." I bowed to her, remembering what my parents told me to do when someone does something good. "Of course, it's my job after all." She smiled. "What's your name?" I asked her. "Shinobu Kocho. And you?"

"(Y/N)"

She brought me to the butterfly mansion, it was huge! "This will be your room, and we will treat your injuries shortly." She said. We?

After a few minutes, three little girls came with Shinobu and gave me some medicine and bandaged my cuts. "This will make you feel better!" They said.

"Thank you." I said to them, they looked to be about my age, but I wasn't sure.

A butterfly came through the window of my room and landed on my nose. I crossed my eyes to look at it. I looked at it in awe "So pretty!" I said out loud, unconsciously. Shinobu made a close-eyed smile, finding you adorable.

'She's so happy even though her whole family is dead and she's in a stranger's home... Maybe I can raise this child as my own.' Shinobu thought.
