Throughout every house was nothing but blackness, so thick, you couldn't see an inch in front of you. The sound of absolutely nothing was so loud, it was deafening. The air that all of a sudden seemed to have stopped circulating became eerie and dense, it was as if you weren't breathing at all. These were the nights of Norway when the midnight sun had finished its 2 month cycle; immensely terrifying.

This darkness, this veil of lingering death is what frightened Lukas the most. This was the fear he would never admit to anyone, not even the other Nordics; his family. For all they knew, he was just a very quiet and content guy that enjoyed being alone for the better half of everyday. There was no way in hell that'd he give up this secret, even though he was suffering a generous amount, his pride was too overpowering to let him ask for the comfort he desperately needed.

So he kept his lips sealed for the better half of the year and suffered in silence while the others slept peacefully. He cursed his pride, but just as he cursed it, he praised it as well. Being afraid of the dark was silly, it was child's play. Thus, the others would think the same; he was just being a silly child.

     Until one night...
