MATHILDES POV:

DATE: November 23rd, 2023

Mathilde paced restlessly in her opulent bedroom, her heart heavy with the weight of her parents' expectations. The sun cast a warm glow through the expansive windows, illuminating the extravagant surroundings that defined her existence. But within these gilded walls, she felt trapped, suffocated by the constraints of her family's desires.

"Mathilde, darling, your father and I would like to talk to you," her mother's voice called from the hallway.

Taking a deep breath, Mathilde straightened her posture and composed herself before stepping into the grandeur of the family study, where her parents awaited her.

"What is it, Mother? Father?" she asked, her voice carrying a hint of apprehension.

Her father's stern expression softened slightly as he spoke. "Mathilde, we have been discussing your future. It is time for you to consider your responsibilities to our family's legacy."

Mathilde's gaze met her father's, her voice trembling ever so slightly. "But Father, my passion lies in fashion. I want to become a designer, to create something meaningful with my life."

Her mother's voice dripped with disdain. "Fashion? Frivolous nonsense! Mathilde, we have worked tirelessly to build our wealth and secure your future. Marriage to a suitable suitor from a prestigious family will ensure the continuation of our legacy."

Mathilde's eyes welled up with unshed tears, her heart aching with the weight of their words. "But what about my dreams, my desires? Am I not allowed to follow my own path?"

Her father's tone turned firm, his eyes reflecting disappointment. "Mathilde, you must understand the importance of our family's position. It is not your place to question our decisions. We know what is best for you."

Tears spilled down Mathilde's cheeks as she felt the crushing weight of their expectations. She turned to leave the room, her voice barely above a whisper. "I need some air."

Leaving the stifling confines of the study, Mathilde found solace in the vast gardens surrounding their chateau. As she wandered aimlessly, her thoughts drifted to Misty Café, where she often found respite from the suffocating expectations of her family.

Lost in her thoughts, Mathilde barely noticed when she bumped into someone, stumbling slightly.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Asha's voice filled the air, concern etched on her face. "Are you alright?"

Mathilde's eyes met Asha's, and a flicker of recognition passed between them. "It's you, from the café. Asha, right?"

Asha nodded, her smile warm and comforting. "Yes, it's me. I hope I didn't startle you. You seemed lost in thought."

Mathilde's voice wavered as she replied, her vulnerability seeping through. "I... I am lost, Asha. Lost in the expectations of my family, the stifling confines of my life."

Asha's eyes softened with empathy. "I understand, Mathilde. Sometimes we need to find our own way, regardless of what others expect of us. It's your dreams that matter."

Mathilde's tears continued to flow, but this time they held a glimmer of hope. "But how? How can I break free from their hold?"

Asha reached out, gently placing a hand on Mathilde's arm. "Together, we can find the strength to pursue our true desires. Let's support each other and build a future where our dreams can flourish."
