This is an entirely self-indulgent one-shot crackfic that would not leave me be. I am working on all my other fics, but this is the most I have written in a while.

Nineteen hours of long stretches of road framed by frozen woodlands and the odd burst of music through the otherwise soothing radio static accompanied Bedelia as she made a well-executed exit from the honeymoon made of nightmares.

For weeks she played the perfect third party witness to their new start. Her connections and the interest Hannibal had in her kept her alive, but she knew as they left Budapest on a plane headed to Lithuania that her time was running short once more as his interest began to wane.

They no longer required a witness for Will's venture behind the veil. No, they had moved on from requiring her company. Her role as a twisted chaperone was coming to an end, and she needed to act before they turned their attention on her once more as they had back in her home. The deep scar on her leg where Hannibal had begun to cut throbbed as a constant reminder of what she survived. Will smiled every time he saw the scar.

"Looks like you didn't come out unscathed this time, Bedelia."

Bedelia rolled her tired eyes at the sound of his voice in her head. The twitchy little man had already forgotten the unpredictability of traumatized.

Hannibal lived under the assumption that her isolated status left her with the few valuable connections she used to get them to Europe and nothing else, but he was wrong.

During her travels, before she met Hannibal, she made several acquaintances, all with valuable qualities.

Two of her connections so happened to be visiting Lithuania.

It was a shame Chiyoh was in the car with them when it happened, but luckily for the tall caretaker, Hannibal had insisted on driving. Will had taken the passenger seat leaving Bedelia with a wary companion in the backseat.

Bedelia relished the look of confusion on their faces as she braced herself and Chiyoh for the hit. Quick but far from deadly, the impact was just enough to stun the occupants of the vehicle.

Ears ringing and fingers trembling from the collision, Bedelia could only watch as a masked individual wrenched open her door and cut the seat belt away from her body.

"Don't move. We are bringing the car around," they didn't wait for a response, and Bedelia didn't think it wise to nod her head. Careful not to move her head much, Bedelia took in the state of the other occupants.

Hannibal and Will appeared fine, despite the unconscious state and matching cuts on their faces. Chiyoh, on the other hand, was awake, if not a bit dazed.

"You're flying away," she murmured, alluding to the conversation they had ages ago in Florence.

Two masked individuals returned and carefully assisted Bedelia from the vehicle. A little unsteady on her feet, Bedelia turned back to face her backseat companion.

"I no longer wish to be his caged bird. Do you?" Bedelia whispered, a near-silent offer for the woman to join her.

Chiyoh smiled at her proposal and turned away, "Fly bird, the beast stirs."

Bedelia didn't hazard a moment to glance at Hannibal. The cage was open, and she planned on flying far away. Situated in the backseat, Bedelia closed her eyes and listened to the sound of approaching sirens get farther and farther away.
