Freen glanced out the window of her condo, watching as the rain poured relentlessly from the darkened sky. The storm had intensified since their arrival, making it clear that the journey to Becky's house would be treacherous.

With a concerned expression, Freen turned to Becky. "The rain hasn't let up, and it seems the storm is getting worse. I don't think it would be safe for us to venture out right now."

Becky's face mirrored Freen's worry, her anxiety evident. "But my parents... They know how much I hate the rain. They must be so worried about me."

Freen understood Becky's concern. It wasn't just the storm that worried her friendㅡ it was the knowledge that her parents would be anxious for her well-being. But Freen also knew that Becky's parents trusted her implicitly, as their families were business partners with a long-standing relationship.

Just as Freen was about to suggest an alternative plan, her phone buzzed with an incoming call. It was Becky's parents. Freen answered, her voice calm yet attentive.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong," Freen greeted, trying to ease their worries. "Yes, Becky and I were just discussing the situation. The storm has gotten worse, and it's not safe for us to travel. I assure you, she'll be safe here with me. We'll take all necessary precautions."

There was a brief pause on the other end of the line, and then Becky's mother spoke, her voice filled with gratitude and trust. "Freen, we appreciate your concern for Becky's safety. We know she's in good hands with you. Please take care of her, and we'll be forever grateful."

Freen nodded, even though they couldn't see her. "I promise, Mrs. Armstrong. I'll make sure she's safe. We'll stay in touch and update you on the situation."

With the conversation concluded, Freen turned to Becky, offering her a reassuring smile. "Your parents trust me, Becky. They want you to stay here where it's safe. Don't worry, we'll make the best of this stormy night."

Becky let out a sigh, a mixture of relief and apprehension. "I suppose you're right. It's just... I hate to think of them worrying about me. But I trust you, Freen. I know you'll keep me safe."

Freen reached out and gently squeezed Becky's hand. "Thank you for your trust, Becky. We'll get through this together."

As the storm raged on outside, Freen and Becky settled into a cozy corner of the condo, finding solace in each other's company. They engaged in lighthearted conversations, distracting themselves from the howling winds and pounding rain. Freen made sure to provide comfort and reassurance, knowing that the night would be long and unpredictable.

As hours passed, the storm gradually began to subside, leaving behind a calmer night. Freen and Becky remained awake, keeping each other company, until the rain finally ceased altogether. It was in those moments of vulnerability and shared experiences that their friendship grew stronger, fostering a sense of trust and understanding between them.

With the arrival of a new day, the storm had passed, leaving the world outside refreshed and glistening. Becky's parents contacted Freen, relieved to hear that their daughter was safe and sound. Plans were made for Freen to accompany Becky back home once the roads were deemed safe for travel.

As Freen and Becky prepared to leave the safety of Freen's condo, Freen paused for a moment, a sudden thought crossing her mind. She turned to Becky, a slightly nervous but hopeful expression on her face.

"Becky, before you head out, do you mind giving me your phone number? Just in case of any emergencies or if we need to contact each other," Freen requested, her voice tinged with genuine concern.

Becky looked at Freen, a small smile forming on her lips. She reached into her bag and pulled out her phone, typing in her number and passing it to Freen. "Sure, Freen. It's always good to have a way to stay connected, right?"
