Astrid Velaryon was a bastard child to Corwyn Velaryon. Bastard or not Corwyn loved his daughter, especially when his wife passed. Although Vaemond didn't like his sister much Corlys loved her. She was family. The only daughter.

Some think Vaemond didn't like his sister because she had something he didn't. Attention. His brother had it, Corlys was the first son after all. Astrid was the first and only daughter. Vaemond was nothing but a second son. It always came down to jealousy.

Astrid Velaryon was betrothed to a horrible man from house Lannister. Baymond Lannister, the lord of the house. Astrid never loved him, their marriage was nothing but a pact in Politics. When they consummated the marriage she was left in the room alone, crying. Astrid called for her hand maiden to immediately get her moon tea. She didn't love the man, right after their wedding she saw why he had no enemies. They were friends before, she thought love could grow. Astrid was wrong. She only saw through the act Baymond put on when it was too late.

No one knew the horrors the lurked inside Baymond's mind, all that did ended up dead. Any one of his whores who ended up carrying his bastard child would be dead. Any man to challenge him would come to the same fate. She learned to stay quiet. No one knew she wanted to escape her prison. She was married to a nice wealthy, handsome Lord. What did she have to feel so somber about? Much like her insufferable husband, Astrid also put up an act. She had no choice, she was trapped.
