A Sorrowful Date

Reloisa’s POV

Thank goodness! After five months of waiting, we will have our first date ever! I mean our first friendly date. It was September 8, 2012 since Roy confessed his feelings for me. After that day, I then confessed to him what I feel for him too. We remained bestfriends after that day. Temporarily, since Roy asked my approval if he can court me, I immediately replied yes to him. It’s almost 10:30 am! I dressed in red t-shirt and blue jeans. “Alright hairs check! Dress check! Face check! Okay! I’m already...” I said to myself in front of the mirror. I texted Roy up,

*MESSAGE CONVERSATION*

Reloisa: Hey munchkin! Are you already awake?

Roy: I just woke up. What do peachie need?

Reloisa: Excuse me?! It’s our first friendly date remember?

Roy: Haha! I’m just kidding! I’m already down here, outside, waiting...

Reloisa: *peaked in the window* gosh! I’m sorry... I’ll go down now...

Roy: Peachie! Take care!

*END OF CONVERSATION*

That silly kid! Why didn’t he texted me that he was already standing there waiting for me?

When I opened the door, I was surprised that Roy is carrying a red teddy bear and blue roses.

“R-roy? What f-for?” I asked stupidly.

“It’s our first date and I want to make it so special and memorable for you peachie” Roy explained.

He then approached and gave it to me.

“Thank you munchkin!” I then hugged him.

“So now, where are we going?” I asked.

“To our usual place” he replied.

We went to that place using his motorcycle. After a few minutes,

“And we are here!” Roy said.

“Wah! The Natural Park! The most beautiful park in our city!” I reacted with great joy in my heart.

“Let’s find a place to sit shall we peachie?” he asked.

“Oh sure munchkin!” I replied.

Oh sweet son of neptune, Roy have never been this sweet before. I wish Roy would’ve never change.

“Hey muchkin! where are you going?” I asked curiosly.

“I’ll just buy something!” he replied.

Now what’s his up to? Then few minutes passed, he return with dozens of fishballs and two ice creams!

“Don’t worry peachie it’s clean... let’s eat?” he asked.

“Bon appeti’t!” I yelled.

Gosh! This is so sweet! eating under the big mango tree with my pal. I mean my future boyfriend!

I realized that it was already been months since he started courting me five months ago. Guess what is the date today? It’s February 14, 2013! It’s Valentine’s Day and as my gift for Roy this Valentine’s Day, is my sweet yes. I saw Roy frowning,

“Umm what’s wrong Roy? It’s our first friendly date and you’re frowning?” I asked.

“Oh this? Nah, this is nothing...” he replied.

“I know you have a problem... Is something bothering you? tell me” I said.

”Because peachie, my mom don’t like you. She told me that I should stay away from you but I didn’y listen to her...” he said.

My left eye began to cry.

“... because you are my bestfriend. you’re the reason why I keep on smiling, the reason why I’m inspired to study, the reason why my hearts beats. I will never ever leave you piechie I promise you that. No matter how many hurricanes or earthquakes may come, nothing will tear us apart because I love you peachie. So please answer me seriously once more... peachie could you be my girl?” he asked.

I-I can’t stop crying! Is it because I knew that her mom don’t like me? Or because he really love me?

“H-hey muchkin. I will promise you that I will be at your side forever till’ the end of time. So my answer would be... YES!” I replied.

I saw a tear running down his cheeks.

“I love you peachie!” he shouted.

“I love you too munchkin!” I shouted also.

All of the people and couples at that park look at us and was happy for both of us. I hugged my boyfriend and took a picture of both of us.

“I’m so happy that I have you in my life” I said.

“Me too peachie” he replied.

While I’m hugging him, I felt that his chest tighten and when I checked him, I saw him trying to breath in some air but he can’t.

“M-munch?! munchkin! What’s wrong?! Somebody help us please!” I reacted with fear and pain that my boyfriend is suffering.

Roy was brought to the nearest hospital. His mother came and started to shout at me,

“You bitch! *slap* what did you do to my son?! didn’t you know that he has an asthma?!" she said.

“Excuse me. If I may interrupt but whose the mother?” the doctor asked.

“Me doc, how’s my son? Is he okay?” she asked.

“I’m sorry but we tried our best to save your son. He’s gone” the doctor said.

“N-no Rooooy! Please don’t dieeee!” her mother cried in pain.

I began crying and started to run out of the hospital.

“Roy, why didn’t you tell me? I thought you will never leave me Roy..” I wondered.

All the memories a while ago, the wait, the gifts, the park, the food, and,... the date.

I-I can’t believe our happiness disappeared like a bubble.

“Why?” I asked myself.

When I’m finally out, I opened the camera and stared at our picture and cried and cried.

“I-I love you Roy!!!” when suddenly,

“Miss! look out!” someone yelled.

“Huh?” I wondered.

*BEEEP BEEEP! CRASSSH!*

I heard noise, the siren, and my vision started to blur.

“Am I dead?” I asked myself.

I tried to say it once more, “R-roy... I... I Love... You”
