JOSHUA'S POV

I woke up this morning to my alarm and the smell of coffee. That must be my dad. I have never liked coffee, but he drinks like five cups a day at least. I get dressed in gym shorts and a loose t-shirt. Today was my first day of practice for the high school boys lacrosse team. My dad played lacrosse growing up, so as soon as I could walk, he made sure I played too. Lucky for him, though, I love the sport.

I go out to the kitchen to find my dad pouring his coffee into a mug and getting ready to go to work.

"Hey dad," I say, walking over to the fridge and grabbing an apple.

"Hey slugger, why are you up so early," He says, looking up at me.

"Today is my first day of practice for the lacrosse team," I say, taking a bite of my apple.

"Well, I know you will be great at it! I have to get to work, but good luck with practice and school," He says, slapping me on the back and walking out the door.

I finish my apple, grab a water bottle, and head to my new high school.

When I get to the field, there are many people there already. Including the girls' team. At my old school we only practiced by ourselves.

I must have been staring at them too long because a boy walks up to me and says, "I know there hot man. Everybody loves Monday morning practice because it's the only time we train with the girls."

I look up at him. He is about my height, Asian, and I'm as straight as they come, but damn.

"My name is Will," He said, holding out my hand for me to shake. I take it.

"Hey man, I'm Joshua, I just moved here," I replied.

"Oh sweet, well, I'll introduce you to Coach Dom," He says, leading me to him.

"Hey Coach, this is Joshua," he says, patting me on the back and walking away.

"Hi," I say, holding out my hand for him to shake.

"It's nice to have you on the team. We are excited to have you!" He replies.

"Honey, I mean Coach Dom, we are ready for your boys to come over," says a built lady coming near us.

Coach meets her halfway. Will comes back over to me.

"They are married, that's the girls' coach. That's the only reason they are allowed to have conjoined practices," Will says.

I walk with Will over to the girls' team. The girls' team were all in a huddle, and I'm guessing their captain speaking. But I could even tell they weren't listening to her because all the girls were looking at us. I turned around to the boys, and they were doing the same thing.

Their captain finally gave up talking to them and turned around to face us.

I couldn't control my smile. She was here and was looking right at me. I can't believe she plays lacrosse, too. I thought I would have to wait for school to see her, but this is 10 times better. I can't believe Jerimiah didn't tell she played lacrosse.

Will got one thing right, the girls team is hot... at least one of them is.

The coaches started talking about the game plan. But I wasn't listening. I was to side tracked by Rory.

What fell like 10 hours later, they finally stopped talking and told us to find partners and stretch. I looked straight at Rory to see her friend, whom she was standing with, and asked someone else to stretch with her. She turned around and gave her a thumbs up. Oh man, that must sting. But the good thing was she told her about me.
