Harry October
Halloween was the best holiday. Period.
Zayn and Harry had quite the production planned for the party. Zayn even put together a makeshift stage for Harry to "host" from. They'd have more guests this year since they had a big ass house now and plenty of room, so a mic and sound system were necessary this time.
Harry recruited the girls to do a group costume with him that would go with the theme of the party, which was The Craft. Louis said everyone's costume had to include a cross of some sort, plus Harry wanted to seduce Louis by surprising him with fishnets and a short skirt because he was a brat, so Nancy Downs was the perfect fit. And Zayn encouraged it because he wanted to make the house come to life throughout the night.
Meaning, he rigged the furniture to move slightly and there would be sounds in the walls. Doors and cabinets would open and close themselves and you might even catch a holographic demon wandering the hallway. Candelabras scattered through the house would occasionally extinguish, then relight themselves through the night. And the chandelier would swing itself too, at least a few times through the night before it would fall from the ceiling (and stop about five feet over everyone's heads, of course). While they planned it all out, Zayn spoke a million miles a minute. He'd never been so excited for a party before.
The best part was how Zayn got Harry and the girls set up to levitate over the stage to kick the party off. Pretty handy having a special effects expert in the family! It'd be a fun photo op for the guests later in the night too, especially with the ring of candles around them that would have three-foot flames shoot up, just like from when Phillip was resurrected. Zayn may have stolen those exact candles from the studio.
Benny even volunteered to man the controls, since he hated drinking and wanted to practice. Probably smart to have a sober person play with the fire. Still, Harry tried to convince Benny to enjoy the party instead of working the whole time but he was just as excited as Zayn to play with the effects and work on his timing with the control board so he could be more help to Zayn on set.
Benny also used the party as an opportunity to practice complex monster makeup techniques on himself (with Zayn's help). They used subtle prosthetics to exaggerate his nose, cheekbones, and brow bones and gave him little nubby horns on his temples. He looked amazing once they were done airbrushing him red.
The DJ they hired, Caleb, even let Benny practice on him, so he turned him into an otherworldly angel, complete with glowing wings and creepy white contacts. Caleb was a good sport. He set up on the edge of the stage and was teaching Liam how to use the turn tables while they waited for the girls to show up to help Li get ready. Harry still didn't know what his costume would be, though.
Zayn and Harry locked themselves upstairs to help each other get dressed.
"I can't believe she is going to be here tonight," Harry said as he pulled on fishnet stockings (crotchless, just in case), he picked specifically to torture Louis with. And maybe Zayn, apparently, who kept trying to "help" adjust them for Harry but only in the naughtiest places and always with a mischievous grin.
