A/N : I'm sorry for the frequent changes/revisions made to this chapter! I'm changing quite a few things (^^)Dorian Moon
I pedaled my bike through the streets of my town, my black hair swished as I moved through the morning traffic. This was my usual route to school; I rode through the quiet residential streets of Easttown. I lived in a quite lively neighborhood, some people nodded at me as a gesture for "Hi" and I just simply returned the smile.
Ugh, i'm so tired.
I exhaled deeply as I arrived at the school gates, sweat streamed down my back and my face flushed. Today would be another long day.
The weather outside felt warm, transitioning from summer to fall. I looked up at the clear blue sky and thought what a great way to start a school day, it's going to be such a good start.
I sighed.
I parked my bicycle on the side, opening the heavy metal gate and entering the school grounds. Students milled around and chatted excitedly with one another in groups, some wearing casual clothes while others dressed more formally.
There were also quite a few students who did not seem to know their place, it's not exactly violating the school rules but it annoyed me anyway. This is a place you're supposed to be learning in, pajama pants? Seriously?
As I scanned my surroundings, I noticed a familiar face. I waved to my buddy, Isaiah, walking down the path, a smile etched onto his features.
"Dorian, my man! How ya' doing?" He dabbed me up, clapping me roughly on the shoulder as if we hadn't seen each other since we were children. "I'm doing fine, i think. What about you?" I replied.
Isaiah did an exaggerated facial expression, quirking his eyebrows suspiciously.
I grimaced in response, scrunching the skin above my nose.
"What has really been going on?" he interrogated me, raising his eyebrows.
I laughed lightly at his antics. "I've just been busy with school." I lied. It's not wrong completely, i'm officially a senior, approaching the final year of school. Standardized tests, college applications, and the pressure to make decisions about my future is my worry.
"Atleast we're the oldest students here now." Isaiah rolled his eyes playfully.
Then he let out a chuckle, "You're telling me after school what's going on ya?" He leaned forward, and squinted.
I looked away, then gazed back at him.
He tilted his head to the side and let out a laugh. "You know something interesting happened." He quickly tried to change the topic.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh yeah?"
"Word got around that Luell and Amelia are a thing." I furrowed my eyebrows, getting annoyed. I recalled that my pal, other half is dating Luell Vanderhoff, that son of a... anyway. He literally poured strawberry milk on my favorite science-fiction book once! It was impossible to find another one too.
"What? They barely dated for a week and they already announced their relationship?" I exclaimed, crossing my arms. "I give it a day before they break u-"
Isaiah cut me off. "Don't be a dick!" He snapped.
I turned away from Isaiah and began muttering under my breath in Korean.
"Chill out, don't say that to me."
"My bad, my bad."
A moment later, I heard Isaiah mumble, "Why do girls have to be so... so complicated..." We stared at each other blankly then laughed. "Okay, maybe I overreacted," Isaiah added.
