AS THE SUN SET, ITS GENTLE rays cascaded down until the inky black took its place. The moon now shone, it's light rising until everything is bathed in it.

[Name] sighed in content, sitting in a grassy clearing filled to the brim with lilacs, said flowers slowly swaying to the sound of the wind.

Cricket's voices echoing from everywhere, they weren't overwhelming nor grating, but instead just there. Placed just right, like a puzzle piece as it mixed in with the serenity of the atmosphere.

It was paradise.

The male next to him fluttered his wings, cheek leaning against his palm while watching his fixation instead of the sunset. Smiling gently as he saw the awe-inspired expression on his face.

He loved it, just as much as you loved the scenery.

His face turned away from you and instead gazed to the sky. Watching as the stars twinkled, beconing him to the sky.

He knew better than to fall for its foolish tricks. He had a new life here, with you.

He had no plans to leave.

---

The Sun has long sinced passed, the moon high in the sky. The animals in the field slept, the clock having striked midnight awhile ago. Your eyelids drooped down, vision blurry as you bumped shoulders with [REDACTED], black spots invading the blurry space, your head nuzzled in the crook of the boy.

"..[Name]?" He whispered, his voice way too light that you barely caught it.

You hummed back, drowsiness clouding your mind as the darkness slowly creeps up faster.

You felt the head of [REDACTED]'s shift on top of yours, taking a deep exhale of content, the warm breath tickling the crown of your head.

"Will we-" he cut himself off, hesitating to say his next sentence. He inhaled before continuing, "Will we always be together?"

He let out a breath of relief, fiddling with his fingers as his wings twitched nervously, waiting for the answer to his question

Except it never came.

The deep breaths of [Name] finally reached his ears, lifting his head off the others, he turned to face his -ERROR!- already fast asleep.

Pursing his lips, he turned his head to the sky once more, the stars twinkling even more, as if warning him.

The moon looked furious.

---

You blinked, slowly bringing an arm up to rub away your bleary eyes. The hardened eye crust painfully thinned out the more you rubbed.

You could feel the hardwood surface of the counter imprint itself on your skin. Thin light redish-pink marks temporarily etched into your skin.

You could feel your temple throbbing uncomfortably, the pounding ache reaching in to your ears.

Your dream was.. odd. You watched from another perspective, a different body. One that did not belong to you.

You watched as the person you vicariously were in gazed fondly at another look-alike of you.

You felt like a doppelganger.

The loud chiming of the bell; indicating a customer has entered, ringed through your ears, another wave of pain entered in to your brain.

Slightly shaking your head to snap out of it, walked out from behind the counter and guided the customer to the designated room.

But all you could think about was that dream.
