A/N DOUBLE UPDATE MEANS DOUBLE VOTES??

Sidharth switched on the recorder, looked at Shehnaaz with a smile, and said, "Listen."

Just then, lightning flashed across the sky, followed by a rumble of thunder, and rain began to pour.

Shehnaaz smiled as she watched the falling drops and then turned towards Sidharth.

"Do you like the rain?" Shehnaaz asked.

Sidharth's trance was broken by her question.

Deciding to postpone his plan for another day since she wasn't paying much attention, he responded.

"Rain? I don't particularly like it, but I don't dislike it either. It's just that getting drenched isn't enjoyable. It's better to watch from a distance," Sidharth said

"You don't like getting drenched? I actually enjoy it a lot; it's nostalgic. When I was a child, I used to get drenched like this with my sister—the same one I told you about earlier. Have you ever tried closing your eyes in the rain, imagining the first face you see, and dancing salsa with that person with your eyes still closed? You should try it. It'll give you a different feel about the rain," Shehnaaz said.

"Different? You'll look crazy. It sounds so filmi. By the way, who do you imagine with your eyes closed?" Sidharth asked.

"Right now, I can only see my sister's face because she taught me salsa, and those memories are etched in my mind. Anyway, the rain has stopped and so has the food. We should head to class or we'll be late," Shehnaaz said.

They both mounted the bike and rode back to college. When the final lecture ended an announcement was made: There would be a college fest in a month, and each club was required to participate. Interested students were to form groups and register their names within the next two days. Auditions would be held after a week.

Sidharth was thrilled by the news. He loved performing on stage and was eager to showcase his talent with the music club.

After the day ended, Shehnaaz approached him.

"Sidharth, can I be a part of the music club too? I've performed on stage in school, but never in college. Can you please add my name to your group?" Shehnaaz asked.

"Listen, Shehnaaz, I'll talk to my band and let you know. I've only performed solo until now, but we'll see. I'll message you tonight," Sidharth said.

Later, Sidharth called Jay, the guitarist of their band.

"Hey, have you heard? There's going to be a fest at college. Are we performing this time? We have to show our performance to the judges in a week," Sidharth said.

"You decide which songs we'll perform," Jay said.

"Okay, listen, there's a girl in my batch who sings really well. I think I might have sent her video in the group. She wants to do a duet. Should we do a duet this time?" Sidharth asked.

"Oh, you're doing a duet? You refused when Kushal suggested it earlier, but now that a girl is involved, you've changed your mind," Jay teased.

"Kushal just plays around. She sings really well. I'll introduce you to her so you can see for yourself," Sidharth said.

"Alright, if that's the case, then we'll do the duet. It will be something different this time," Jay said.

"Yeah, that's what I'm saying—something different. Anyway, let's meet tomorrow during recess," Sidharth said, ending the call.

He added Shehnaaz to the club's WhatsApp group and sent her a personal message.

"I've spoken to the band, and you can perform with us. We'll start practice from tomorrow. Will you come to college?" Sidharth messaged.
