"Today in class we'll be learning about cognitive psychology. Can anyone tell me what cognitive psychology is?"
It's the 3rd day of school, second day in psychology, second year of this class though. My heart and mind has been set soulfully on school and work. I have gas to pay and an apartment to save up for. I can't let anything get in my way, no person, no drama and especially no relationships.
"Cognitive psychology focuses on how we store, process, and use information, like a computer."
"Great answer Armada, Does anyone have anything to add on? Or any examples of cognitive psychology?" Mr.Dane asked the class.
"I have an add on Mr.Dane." Leeann spoke up from the opposite side of the classroom from me.
Leeann was about 5'2, she had armpit length hair, curly, wet looking, and it always smelt good. She was Cherokee and columbian. She has her nose pierced on both sides, both studs piercings, as well as several ear piercings and a smiley to top it off, and two tattoos both on her forearms. She's the finest stud in the school. I met her in June, when I started working at the women's footlocker after school let out. We enjoyed our 2 months together as good friends, then I got moved to a new footlocker.
"Cognitive psychology studies mostly memory, language use, perception, problem solving, creativity, and reasoning."
"And that Leeann is also a great answer, or should we say add on? Either way you guys make a good team off rip so that concludes on one partnership for our first class assignment, everyone else partner up you have ten minutes."
All the tables on my side of the classroom are completely full, but at Leeanns table there are two empty seats. I walked to her table and she stood up and gave me a full hug. After we hugged I sat down and saw two girls staring at me and her but they didn't really bother me, not like I did something to them.
"So how have you been?"
"I've been fine, working, taking care of my mom and you know dealing with the same old lame stuff I was before."
Leeann has been taking care of her mom for about 4 years, she has leukemia. Her mom refuses to go to any hospital due to the death of LeeAnn's sister, but she has a nurse that's there 14 hours a day and the other ten are left for Leeann. Some weeks her and the nurse shifted their hours from evening and day. So sometimes I could only hang with Lee in the day and sometimes only at night but it was fine with me. I just enjoyed her company.
"How about you, you've been taking care of yourself? I've missed hanging with you, where have you been?
"I'm fine, I've been working on myself, and working for real. You know how it is at my mom's crib. I always stay busy but I'm finna move as soon as my birthday comes around. I already talked to her about it and we know the exact place and what we need for it. Just gotta stack this little bit of bread and wait for my birthday."
"Oh yea? That's wassup." She smiled and licked her lips, unintentionally but it was cute anyways.
I stared at her for a moment then began to say something.
"We always had fun together tho-."
"Ten minutes are up." The class got silent
"Today's class assignment is a get to know us presentation, you and your partner get a sticky note big sheet and a sharpie from the back of the room, take a scale and create two straight lines creating three columns put your names on the right and left column to each it's own then in the middle column put perception, and on the perception column you will right two things about your partner that you were able to process about them. Personality traits, looks, etc. Y'all have a half a hour."

Everyone finished and we were now waiting for class to end.
"You got a class after this?"
"No, my lunch is after this though."
"Ew Amarda you eat school food?"
"No, people I know are there but if you don't have a class we can go to my crib ain't nobody home, that doesn't matter anyways but it's always better having a free when you don't have any more classes for the day."
"Yea i'll come, meet you there I drove today."
We walk outside and separate from our cars. In all honesty I wasn't expecting her to be at this school but I'm glad, I miss being with her. She is a cool person for real. I park in the garage and Lee pulls in the driveway then gets out of the car.
"Can I have another hug? I had to be respectful of the length of my hug since we were in the class while the teacher was talking, I missed you man."
She pulled me into a hug by my lower back, she and I both hugged tightly. She smelled good and her skin smelt like dove sensitive soap, smelling like a baby. We hugged for a while then we stepped apart.
"Are you ready to go in now?"
"Yea you know I am, this used to be the crib to be at when I got lonely or needed you, you and your dukes used to have me weak in there."
We walked into the house and she went straight to the kitchen her favorite place in my house.
"What you cook for dinner last night I know you was selling Sunday dinner plates. So where's the leftovers?"
"I cooked smothered gravy steak with peppers and onions, Mash potatoes, Macaroni, yellow rice, and homemade garlic knots. Everything is in the fridge already."
She made her food and ate, while she was eating I packed the bowl to the bong, and rolled a raw we went upstairs to my room and turned on the Lorax.
"You remember when we went to that party and I wanted to kiss you?"
She stared at me after asking and I just looked away blushing.
"I remember, you told me I couldn't get a kiss because you didn't know if I was telling the truth or if I was just saying that because I was drinking a little."
She scooted closer to me and we set silently for a good minute.
"What if I tried and kissed you now?"
"Nothing's stopping you."
She put her hand around my neck gently and pulled me in for a kiss, she pecked my lips once and then stared at me I pulled her back in and planted my lips on hers, I let our lips melt together then slowly started to kiss her, she took dominance and added tongue. The kiss lasted another 2 minutes and then we stopped. She started to smirk proceeding to laugh right after.
"Ain't no way you taught yourself how to kiss, calm down lil mama was tryna seduce me wont you."
I instantly got embarrassed a little and looked the other way.
"Nah i'm just kidding, I missed you peanut."
"I hate that nickname, I missed you more."
