"Tanjiro!" Kie called. "Let me wipe the ash off of your face!" "Thank you mother." the burgundy haired boy thanked, "Tanjiro!" "Hello Hanako!" "Can we come with you into town today!?" Hanako, Tanjiros little sister pleaded. "Not today Hanako, but I promise to bring you guys another day!" "But why!?" Shigeru, Tanjiros little brother, complained. "Because Tanjiro isn't bringing the wagon with him to sell charcoal. So, if your legs get tired, he can't carry you." Kie explained to the kids, who were frowning tremendously at their mothers words but against what they wanted, they obeyed. Tanjiro chuckled at the sight.
"Tanjiro!" Takeo called out to his 'only a few years older brother' "Hey Shigeru! While I'm gone, make sure to chop as much wood as you can!" Tanjiro replied. "I was hoping we could do that together..." Shigeru muttered under his breath sadly, disappointed that him and his brother were unable to chop firewood together because one of them had to go into town. "Alright well, I should get going!" Tanjiro exclaimed happily. "Tanjiro, you don't have to do this..." Kie said, with a slight frown. "It's okay mom. I want my family to be fed on new years. So I'm gonna sell as much charcoal as I can!" Tanjiro replied, reassuring his mother. "Okay, just- be careful!" Kie said as she and her other children waved Tanjiro off.
"Ah, Nezuko! I've been wondering where you were!" "Hello Tanjiro, I was just putting Rokuta down for a nap so he wouldn't make a scene when you left!" She sweat dropped, knowing that it would be much harder for Tanjiro to leave with Rokuta awake to witness it. Tanjiro let out a small but comfortable sigh, patting her younger sister Nezukos head. Then looking at his youngest brother, Rokuta sleeping soundly on Nezukos back. "Thank you." Tanjiro thanked Nezukos for doing all that work for him. "It's not a problem, so don't thank me!" Nezuko happily replied. "Okay, but I have to go to town soon, I'd better be heading down there now." Tanjiro said as Nezuko shown a slight frown.
"Be careful Nii-chan!" Nezuko waves her big brother off as he descended down the mountain towards the village near their home.
As of right now, we don't live and easy life. But we're happy with it. Just like how life can change quickly. It's shifts and moves on. It's not like it always sunny, for endlessly snowing during winter. And whenever happiness is destroyed.
There's the smell of Blood.
