Not sure how I feel about this, so let me know what you think

As her alarm obnoxiously blared, in a mindless state. Elizabeth flipped over, silencing the sound.

This is Elizabeth Gross. Or, as she prefers to go by, Liz. She's a 15 year old girl from Sherman Oaks, California and it's her first day of sophomore year. And I am legendary singer and songwriter, Taylor Swift. Now, you may be asking yourself: why is acclaimed musical artist Taylor Swift narrating this tale? It'll make sense later, I promise. But, Liz's story starts now, as she hurries to get ready for school her first day of 10th grade.

"Liz?" The guy knocking on her door is her twin brother, Ben Gross. He's one of Liz's closest friends and also the more responsible of the two siblings. "Liz, please don't tell me you're still asleep. We're gonna be late." He received no response from his sister. "Liz!" He pounded on the door once more.

"Yeah! Yeah! I'm awake." Liz bolted to her feet, throwing on a random outfit that was crumpled up on her floor and grabbing a half eaten pop tart that was on her bedside table.

"Liz!" Just before Ben's fist hit the door, the door itself went flying open, Liz on the other side, pop tart in her mouth, struggling to get her backpack on.

"Where'd you get a pop tart from?"

"Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to."

Ben shrugged. "Fair enough." He turned around, facing the other end of the hallway of the ginormous mansion the two lived in. "Mom, Dad, we're leaving for school!"

"They left to catch a flight early this morning." Ben and Liz's parents were 'important' business people, meaning they spent more time away from home than at home with their children. One of the biggest reasons why Ben and Liz were so close.

"Right." Ben chuckled. "Couldn't miss their tradition of not being there for our first day of school. Again."

Liz patted her brother's shoulder. "Don't worry about them. They're douches anyway."

"What is up, losers." Liz spoke dramatically, placing her arms on her friends' shoulders. "How was everyone's summer?" Eleanor and Fabiola were two of the closest friends Liz had. They may be unpopular losers, but no matter what, Liz knew they had her back.

"Good." The two said in unison.

"Hey, how was Aruba?" Fabiola questioned, a large smile on her face.

"Aruba was...interesting." Liz didn't have the heart to tell her friends that her parents had another 'work emergency' and couldn't take Liz and Ben on vacation. So, Liz spent the entire summer in her room, listening to my music.

"Guys, sophomore year is gonna be our year. I can feel it." And then there was Devi. Devi had been her best friend since they were in diapers. Before Fabiola and Eleanor, it was just the two of them. But, things changed. Devi still loved Liz and Liz still loved Devi. Only, Liz really loved Devi, a feeling she knew would never be shared by her friend.

"Sophomore actually means 'wise fool' in Greek, so it can really go either way."

"Oh my god." Eleanor gasped suddenly. "I just realized that this is our last first day of sophomore year we'll ever have."

"This reminds me of a problem I wanna talk to you guys about. We're not cool."

"Uh, would a not cool person wear one dangly earring?" Eleanor gestured to one ear, which had a dangly earring hanging from it.
