Outside

It was the year 2046 when we escaped exactly on Ray's birthday.

We all stopped to take a break from all the running. Everyone was eating a certain amount of food just for it to last us until we find shelter.

I wander off into the forest, not going to far, I felt someone staring at me but didn't bother to even look back. I sat down on a rock and looked at the sky.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. Once I opened them I saw Ray looking at me from above.

"Yo" Ray smirked at me.

"SHIT" I fell back scared by the sudden appearance of him. Since I fell back, Ray had fallen to, making me sit between his legs, my back facing him while Ray had fallen back fully.

"You ass! You scared me!" I turned around and got up, helping him up too. He chuckled while he grabbed my hand.

"But it's funny just seeing your face when your scared.." I blush and turn away looking up at the sky again.

"But what are you doing here alone..?" Ray asked looking at me. I turned to him and smiled.

"I just wanted some time alone..after all that had happened." I turned my attention back to the sky as I heard him hum a 'hm'. I the remember his present..I took the backpack off of my back and went through it searching for his gift.

Ray watched me as I rummaged through the bag. "What are you doing?" I ignored him and pulled it out. It was a little box.

"Here, happy late birthday Ray!" I smiled at him and gave the little box to him. I watched him look at it in 'awe'. He took the top of the box off and inside the box contained 2 matching bracelets and 2 matching necklaces.

"Thank you Y/n, I love it but, What's this for?" Ray looked at me and then back at the 4 pieces of jewelry.

"Well they're matching bracelet and necklaces duh. But it's really for the person you love, once in the future you get married or find the right person, you can give it to them." I looked at him with a smile and looked straight ahead.

"Hm wow..thank you once again Y/n.."

"Yea don't mention it.."

Both of them stayed quiet until Ray spoke up

"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" I looked at him confused and back at the sky.

"Ray the moon isn't even out?" He ignored me and turned to look at me, he smiled and passed me the bracelet and necklace.

"Here I want you to keep this part of the necklace and bracelet so you can keep it safe for me.." I was confused but I put the necklace and bracelet on.

"Why don't you just keep it in your bag?" I turned to him.

"I want someone who I can actually trust these with..can you help me put the necklace on?" I nodded and smiled. I went behind him and helped him with the necklace.

I went back and sat down next to him.

I was walking through the shelter minding my own business. I then stumbled upon the library, I saw Ray in their sleeping peacefully.

I smile to myself and open the door halfway to let myself in. I close the door so no one can interrupt Ray sleeping.
