23| 𝘐𝘛 𝘨𝘶𝘺

"What do you mean school is canceled?" Ruby asked as she was in a call with Rue who told her this morning about the school getting caught on fire on last night's party, some kid accidentally set fire on chemistry class while they were smoking half of the school was blown and now they were fixing it.

"That can't be right, a small smoke can't cause that big explosion. It should had just set the class on fire and maybe burn some other classes but to have half of the school blown up is strange." Ruby said as she takes a sip of her orange juice, she puts a plate of pancakes in front of Ash who came out of her bedroom with a yawn.

Brian comes out of the room holding Jack with a baby bag with all the stuff he will need for the small dad and son day, Ruby looks at him. "I'll call you back, Rue." She ends the call and kissed Jack on the head which earned a coo from him trying to get a hold of her hair.

"Do you want me to tell you where you open the door for the mini van?" She asked, Mia would have done it but she left this morning to the pharmacy and Brian shakes his head. "Nah, I got it." Brian said.

"Hmmm, you sure?" Ruby asked and Brian stays quite for a second and nods. "I'm sure." He said and looks confused seeing the time on the clock.

"Aren't you supposed to be at school?" Brian asked, Ashtray comes behind Ruby finally looking awake and putting the dirty dish on the sink. "School will be canceled until further notice, apparently half of the school was blown up by a kid smoking in a chemistry class." Ruby said and laughs seeing the look of disbelief on Brain.

"Stupid I know." She said and takes out a lunch box handing it to him. "Here, Mia made this before she left."

Brian nods putting on the bag and picks up the car keys, the couple watch him go and Ruby faced Ash with a smirk.

"How about a date? Maybe somewhere we haven't been to." Ruby said as she puts everything away and Ash chuckles shaking his head. "Next time I'll be the one to ask you out." He said with a smile and Ruby grins.

"You just have to be quick." She said and went to change.

"You're disappointed, aren't you?" Elena asked as she got ready to leave only to stop by Hobbs's office seeing him work on papers. "What are you talking about?" Hobbs asks with a raised eyebrow.

"The last arrest, he was too easy." Elena said with a small smile. "Target didn't even run."

Hobbs shrugs. "Ah, it's okay. Gives me a chance to hit the iron. Also lets me work on my stamping skills."

"You're a terrible liar." Elena said with a small laugh shaking her head. "See you tomorrow, boss."

"I'll see you then." Hobbs said with a nod and was going to go back to working on the papers when Elena calls him. "Don't stay too late." Elena said and he looks up.
