After mars got kicked out of its house for coming out to it's parents, they went to buy a new house a year after and move on, not once ever trying to contact their family . Trying to forget what happened with tears streaming down their eyes. It had too much on his plate he couldn't even start. They sobbed and sobbed on a bench at the park, alone in the dark. Until they heard a cry from afar.

Mars got up from the bench and went towards the yelping sound for help. After they passed a corner of a brick fence, they saw two older men tormenting and kicking at the poor, homeless on the ground. The homeless therian looked terrible. It was covered in bruises and at the sight of it, fear came upon mars. He tried to man up and chase the men away and it successfully worked.

Mars helped the therian up from the ground as their eyes locked. Mars started to blush at the sight of the therian's beautiful, blue eyes.
"Are you okay? Why were those men doing that??" Mars asked, in a worried, questioning tone of voice.
"I'm alright, those people do that to me all the time. It's not like they won't come back anyway.." the therian said sadly.
"What's your name?" Mars asked, curiously.
"T-Toady..and you..?"
"Rune.. but you can call me mars.!"
"That's a beautiful name.."
Mars face turned plain red at the comment. Toady noticed and let out a small smile.
"I can't leave you here.. what if they come back and do that to you again??"
"it's fine. I'm used to it.."
"Used to it?! Here." Mars gives Toady a blanket from its backpack and took toady home.
"Y-you didn't have to d-do all of this..!" Toady said frankly.
"I wanted to!! I couldn't just leave you there, all cold and alone! It's good for your health."
Toady blushed at how much Mars cared for them.
Mars realized then that they started developing a crush on toady.
