Don't go there

The brunette stared blankly at the small window which showed that the sky had a yellow hue. It was going to get dark after a few more hours.

Dazai sighed and winced when the frayed rope dug into his already bleeding wrist. The brunette adjusted his hand uncomfortably as his finger reached the vain to grab the scalpel in his other sleeve. Light footsteps from outside made the brunette stop his movements as he looked towards the door.

Someone finally decided to check on him. A familiar grey haired male stepped into the room, Dazai didn't miss the widened of eyes from the other. He smirked when the grey haired composed himself again.

"If you want to ask about the ginger, he's still unconscious."

The brunette gave no reaction. He only asked back, "It seems you're gifted."

Akuma smiled menacingly, "My ability, Invisible Demons And Angels allows me to not only clone myself but make myself invisible."

"What a useful gift. I could understand why you were in the police force for eight years."

A frown appeared on the other's face as he rolled his eyes, "The one thing I found weird is why you purposely got yourself caught."

Dazai raised a sarcastic brow, "Purposely. No, no, no. I just got caught by you because of your ability."

Akuma laughed, "Like you've said, I was working in the police force for a solid eight years. I can see whether someone is lying or not."

The brunette clicked his tongue in amusement, "Shucks! You got me!"

Scoffing, Akuma titled his head as a gesture to explain. Hearing no response from the taller, Akuma said, "You saw me didn't you?"

Seeing the brunette shrug, Akuma frowned once more, "How? I ensured I enabled my ability to turn invisible."

Noticing the brunette smirk, the grey haired thought of the many possibilities but he couldn't come up with any. That's when something hit him, "You're from the ADA for those who are gifted. You have an ability too, don't you?"

Dazai smiled back as he proudly explained, "No Longer Human. I can nullify any ability."

The brunette gave the shocked grey haired a confident side glance before chuckling. "My turn to ask questions! Why did you change the two Chuuya's from two different worlds?"

"For fun."

Dazai smirked as he lowered his head slightly, a few brown caramel locks covering his eyes. "Are you angry?"

The taller didn't miss the twitch of the other's finger as the other answered calmly, "No, of course not. I have no such trivial emotions."

The brunette knew how to get the other to confess. It was easy actually. You just had to predict the real reason. Poke at a sensitive topic and...they'll break.

"Maybe not anger but maybe rage? Or grief? Oh, I know...Guilt, perhaps?"

Like the sole string snap, Akuma's hand shot up, grabbing the brunette's haired and slamming it to the pillar he was leaning on. Dazai was unfazed and even still had the smirk on his face, "I'm right, aren't I? Let me guess, Chuuya did something to upset you? What was it? Killed your friend? Made you lose someone close to you? Even better! Made someone you love with all your life slip from your hands and it was all. Your. Fault."

The grey haired stood up fast, glaring at the other with hatred. Dazai knew he guessed right.

"You know nothing..."

"Of course I do! If I didn't, could I have guessed?"

Realising the other's cluelessness on how he knew, the brunette smiled, no obvious emotion in that smile. "Looking through you records, I went even further to search who was related to you or at least close to you. Your friends, colleagues...Kiyoshi Makoto ring a  bell?"

The other laughed, almost as if he had lost his mind. "You really are one smart detective. That ginger took her from me! He left her! Saving everyone except her! I begged him to but he didn't listen. Such cruel people that leave others to die shouldn't be left to live."

The brunette expected much so he wasn't surprise. He just found what the other said sounded...familiar.

"It took me 3 years after I quit my job as a police officer to finally find a way to at least drag someone out from another universe to this world. It's like...putting a single piece of paper into the middle of a stack of other materials. Possible but hard to accomplish. I ended with consequences but it was worth it."

The grey haired pulled the collar of his shirt down, showing a bit of his collar bone. Purple bulging veins crept up the other's chest, climbing eerily over his collar bone, almost reaching his neck. That sight made even Dazai's eyes widen.

"Don't tell me you..."

The other chuckled softly to himself. "The chemicals I used to make the portal to the other universe, it effected me because I wasn't careful."

A sigh before Akuma smiled once more.

"It's only a matter of a few more hours before he dies. You won't be able to save him, give up."

With that, the other adjusted his shirt collar before leaving the room. The brunette sighed, at least he could finally reach the scalpel. Now, it will just take time to cut through the ropes.

The boss of the port mafia was no average person. He had brains.

With that, he had already found out what's happening and therefore, had send his subordinates to take over the building he predicted Akuma Rin was at.

True to his words, the Akuma in this world had expected that the port mafia was coming. However, he didn't flee the building. He merely waited.

Explaining his ability and plans to Dazai who already guessed it, it was like a loop. Chuuya got knocked out and brought into another room and a few of Dazai's subordinates went missing in the building. It was only dazai left. The brunette however, was confident and stride through the hallways with ease.

The only person who could still contact him and was apparently conscious was Atsushi and Kyouka. The rest were all silent, either unconscious or dead. But Dazai was sure his subordinates were fine, they wouldn't get killed that easily.

Strolling leisurely through the hallways, the brunette's eyes widened when he reached the furthest room at the end of the hallway. He quickly raced to the ginger tied to a chair.

"Chuuya, wake up. I need you to wake up!" Seeing a grey haired male walk into the room, Dazai' frowned.

"Akuma Rin...Want to have the honors of bringing this Chuuya back to his own universe or I force you to?"

The other laughed, "Times already up..."
