As soon as the bell rang, she was out on her own. Nevaeh and Lael quickly to rush to their classes telling her that she'll figure it out. She suddenly remembered the options on the blue screen earlier today. She tapped the badge twice before the blue, holographic screen popped out, it listed the follow options: map, rules and guidelines, rank and status info, timetable and books. She clicked the map, according to the schedule magic obstacle course was situated within the forbidden forest. She quickly hurried over there.
The closer she was to the forbidden forest, the more her surroundings changed. First of was subtle changes like more trees, than it was like she was walking through an overgrown garden! The strange thing was that she was hardly even at the border! She began to see more and more people heading towards the forest. As she made it to the border, she felt an ominous feeling (maybe because of the dungeon and the miasma). A huge crowd of people was gathered in one place, staring patiently at an empty spot. She looked closely at it and realised there was a body there it was hardly noticeable.
Her body proportions were dwarfish and inhumane, her eyes were large (like an owl). I was in shock as I was still getting used the strange beings in this world. Her lips parted, " HIIII, EVERYONE! " her voice was much more brighter than expected. "I HOPE YOUR LOOKING FORWARD FOR THE MYSTERIOUS ...DUNGEON! " She begins to gesture backwards "There's camera crew today for the examiners to see your skills. This counts as 1/4 of your grade!" She said excitedly. It was met by number groans and complaints from other students. "Oh, I forgot, I've been rude. My name is Mrs Burkhardt!" She beamed at all the students.
"Damn, " A girl with light pink hair and sharp pointy ears said beside her. "this school is not slacking even on recruits!" She pouted.
"Yeah it's super strange" She replied, not knowing what to say.
"Well, it's a school for the best of the best" She sighed. "What's your name, Actually?" She looked her with a curious expression.
"Lily, nice to meet you!" She smiled.
"Aria to you!" She said brightly.
"Wow, you have such a pretty name!" Lily exclaimed.
A loud cough echoed through the forest. "Now you guys are finished chatting I will continue, the first person up to the dungeon is Lily... Alvar?!" she spluttered the last word out.
"YOU'RE AN ALVAR!" Aria shrieked. "Alvars are Legends! Most importantly you're related to Nevaeh! She's like the the Queen Bee! If your her sister then I want to be you!" Lily was in shock trying to process what she just learnt: she's related to Nevaeh, secret family powers and she was lied to her whole life.
"Please come forward to the podium!" Burkhardt continued . No one moved. If you even clinched all eyes would be on you.
She took a step foward and another and another and another. Until she was face to face with Mrs Burkhardt (not exactly face to face though). She looked up to Lily and said 'the portals that way' she gestured behind her. She was met by a purple pool of water swirling and defying gravity as it was standing upright. She took a deep breath and stated intensely at the pool. Her legs moved. Her body was screaming with all her power to stop. Turn back. It didn't listen It almost was like a different force was controlling moving her legs forward like she was a puppet attached to strings. She entered her body felt numb when the pool of water reached her. Regardless she kept persisting. Her eye's widened when she got to the other side.
The word was on fire. Each breath caused pain to her lungs. She could barely the gasping of her breaths through The flames. The merciless fire was relentless. She could she humanoid shapes dancing in the the flames. The same words were repeating in her head. 'come join us' ' COME JOIN US' ' COME JOIN US!'. Her head felt like bursting. She wanted to scream and shout. She slapped her self hard. It's sting like salt to a wound. The rational part in her brain was screaming at her saying 'it's probably a mental test so she kept walking no matter how much it hurts her.
She began to walk. She grimaced every step she took brought her to a new world of pain. She felt he fire licking at her legs leaving her with blistered and scorch marks. She was quickly running out of oxygen to breathe. The repetitive sound of hoarse breath was hardly distinguishable over the roaring of flames. Her surroundings began to change... Warping, turning, twisting, spinning. She was in the middle of a white void. It seemed to have no end. Startled she abruptly turned around....
'Where am i?!' She shouted. No answer.
"Is this another part of the test?" She exclaimed. Again no answer.
Within a few seconds a riddle displayed on the screen. 'In youth I'm ignored, in , I'm explored, I'm the end of a race, the final embrace. What am I ?'
" A riddle? The one thing I'm bad at ... " She murmured. "Death? Because its at the end ..."
Everything seemed to break apart.
She was falling through and endless void. She couldn't move any part of her body. She trapped. A voice echoed from the darkness. "In this part of the challenge you need to try to access your mana pool so we can see your score."
'My mana pool? The last time I tried it was horrible...' She thought. She closed her eyes and concentrated. She found the same familiar energy. That warm feeling felt almost like greeting and old friend. The flames seemed more tame now. They were curling their tendrils in satisfaction. 'Okay ' She thought. 'let's try to get along...' She pulled the energy toward her embracing the fiery heat. When she opened her eyes she was at the clearing facing Mrs Burkhard.
" It wasn't that bad?" Lily asked while Mrs Burkhardt mouth was open with shock.
Sorry I didn't post for along time.
