01x01 "Wolf Moon"
~♥~
The soft and silvery light of the moon poured in through the narrow window of the young girl's basement, casting an enchanting spell over the dimly lit space. The faint glow of the moonbeams created shadows that danced on the walls, adding an element of mystery and intrigue to the atmosphere. It was as if the moon had a secret to tell, and the girl was the only one who could hear it.The young girl sat on the cold, hard floor with her back against the wall. Her chest heaved with every breath as her heart pounded in her chest, making her feel as if it would burst out. Sweat dripped down her forehead, and her hands trembled as she tried to steady herself. The suffocating silence was only broken by the sound of her own gasping breaths, which echoed in the empty room. For weeks, she had been anticipating this particular night with a sense of dread and apprehension. For the past few days, she couldn't shake off the sense of impending doom that loomed over her. She should be used to this by now, she was born a werewolf. This should all be natural for her but every full moon, it was experiencing the nightmare again, where she would be powerless against the pull. She would shift into her werewolf form and pray the chains would be enough to keep her in. Despite her best efforts to prepare for it, the fear and anxiety that came with this monthly cycle were always difficult to shake off. Her father would do his best to help her through it, but he wasn't a werewolf like her mother had been. He often found herself struggling to remember what her mother would do when Amelia was younger to help control the shift. However as time passed, his memories of those moments became increasingly hazy, leaving him feeling helpless and uncertain about how to aid his daughter.Amelia found herself staring up at the basement ceiling, it was only a matter of time before she surrendered to her animal instincts.Over the years Amelia had always been told that mastering her shift during the full moon would come with time and that it was easier for those born werewolves. Amelia's struggles with controlling her transformation into a werewolf had been a constant source of frustration. She couldn't understand why others seemed to have a handle on it, while she struggled to keep her emotions in check. Her childhood had been marked by frequent outbursts of anger, the young Amelia was quick to anger and any little thing would set her off. These outbursts would also trigger her to shift, resulting in the girl being homeschooled for a few years before she could control it better. The transformation was excruciating, causing her to let out a piercing cry. She squeezed her eyes shut when suddenly the pain stopped. As she slowly opened her eyes, she was met with a sea of red. The room was bathed in a crimson hue. She could hear the sound of tree branches rustling in the wind outside, and in the distance, the faint sound of a bird chirping. She quickly became aware of the chains that bound her and began pulling against them. There was a faint burning sensation in her wrists, which only made her pull harder. Amelia's heart was pounding in her chest as she struggled against the chains that bound her to the wall. With every fibre of her being, she pulled and yanked, using all her enhanced strength to break free. The metal links strained and groaned, but finally, they gave way, and the young werewolf was free. Without a moment's hesitation, she darted towards the window, her muscles coiled and ready to spring. The cool night air caressed her face as she leapt out the window, feeling the adrenaline rush as she soared through the darkness. As she landed on the ground, Amelia's legs carried her forward at a relentless pace. She ran through the deserted streets, her mind racing with fear and uncertainty. Her heightened senses were on high alert, scanning the shadows for any signs of danger. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, she found herself in the Beacon Hills' Preserve. The sounds of nature surrounded her, and the rustling of leaves beneath her feet was a comforting presence. The moon shone down on her, casting a pale glow over the landscape as she continued to run, her heart still pounding in her chest. All of a sudden, a distant and unsettling howl cut through the serene atmosphere of the nature preserve, causing her to come to an abrupt halt. The sound was so chilling and ominous that it sent a shiver down her spine and made her hairs stand on end. She stood there, rooted to the spot, her heart racing as she struggled to catch her breath, waiting for any signs of movement from the source of the howl. Her eyes darted around, scanning the tree line and the dense underbrush for any signs of life. The sound seemed to have come from far away, but it was so eerie and unsettling that it felt like it was closing in on her. She held her ground, her senses on high alert, not daring to move an inch until she had a clear idea of what she was up against.Amelia stood motionless in the midst of the silent woods, her eyes scanning every inch of the surroundings, as if searching for a needle in a haystack. Every second that passed felt like an eternity, as she kept looking for any sign of life or activity, no matter how insignificant it may be. The only sound that could be heard was the rustling of leaves as a gentle breeze swept through the trees, making her even more aware of the eerie silence that surrounded her.She slowly turned around, and several yards away, her gaze locked onto two glowing blood-red eyes that were fixed upon her. Before she could even more or scream, a towering and vicious figure had already sprung from the shadows and was hurtling towards her. Amelia's instincts kicked in as she dodged the attack, feeling the wind rush past her face.
