01x01 "Wolf Moon
~♥~
The next day Amelia drifted alongside the sea of students that flooded the school hallway, her eyes watching as they each went by their separate ways. Suddenly, a familiar voice cut through the chatter and echoed through her ears. "Amelia! Wait!" She whirled around and saw April Argent standing there, a wide grin tugging at the corners of her lips. A smile found its way across Amelia's face in response as she greeted April with enthusiasm. "Hey April."
April nervously tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she bit her lip, almost afraid to ask the question. Her fingers played with the loose threads along the hem of her shirt as she hesitantly asked, "Hey, I was wondering if you were going to Lydia's party this Friday?"
"No I'm not, I've got plans, sorry." She lied, her heart sinking as she watched the Argents face fall with disappointment before quickly masking it.
"No that's alright. No big deal." April replied, her voice steady though her eyes were filled with sadness. She gave a slight nod and glanced away as if to hide her hurt. "Well, I really have to go now," she added hastily, before turning on her heel and briskly walking away.
"Wait! April!" Amelia exhaled in disappointment, wishing that this Friday wasn't a full moon - if it hadn't been, there might have been a chance of her father allowing her to go.
Blair strolled up to her, a curious look of confusion on her face. "Hey, where's April going?" She asked with a bemused expression.
"To get away from me," Amelia replied in a subdued tone. Blair gave her an even more perplexed look.
"Why? What did you do?"
"She asked me if I was going to party on Friday," Amelia murmured with shame in her voice.
Blair gave her an inquisitive look and asked, "And you said?"
Amelia scowled in frustration and replied, "It's a full moon on Friday. What if I went with her and started shifting right in front of her? She'd definitely freak out and never speak to me ever again."
Blair nodded, understanding Amelia's dilemma. She gave her a reassuring smile and said, "It'll be all right. It's one night, I'm sure she'll understand." Amelia sighed in relief at her words of support.
A mischievous smirk spread across Blair's face, as she tightly grasped her friend's arm. "Blair what the hell?" Amelia exclaimed, frowning in confusion.
"We're going to the lacrosse tryouts. It'll help you clear your head a bit," She said with a smirk. Amelia raised an eyebrow at her friend, aware of the true motive for this excursion. "You just want to see Max don't you?" Amelia said.
Blair's face creased into a mischievous grin as she glanced at her friend, "What? I don't know what your talking about."
Amelia gave her a playful glare as she replied, "Remember I can hear your heartbeat."
